I posted a pic on my OLD 120k page 4 hours ago and reached over 12,000 peeps till now. Yes reach is declining but when it hits you that hard there must be something with the quantity, or the quality of your posts... How often do you post and what (links, pics, videos)?

Couldn't agree more; it's better to post one really good / engaging post a day rather than trying to fit in several throughout (unless they're actually good). Read up on some Facebook marketing tips; scarcity doesn't just apply to sales... if someone's news feed is littered with posts from your page because they liked it, odds are they'll unlike your page -- but if they login and see one maybe 2 or 3 engaging / cool posts for a page they chose to like (niche wise), it will create much higher engagement.

This is funny though... of course Facebook wants to continue to grow its revenue so why wouldn't they screw over organic search -- isn't Google doing the same thing?

Not true at all. It's all about post quality and keeping a balance between other post types and links. I've seen pages with millions of fans reach almost no one, because they spammed the pages with mylikes and other bullshit. You have to pay attention to demo, location, what gets liked, what gets shared, analyze all the data to help determine what is best to post.

I find it funny when some of you think you have it figured out. You don't. Either you don't have the experience or overview of what is happening or aren't in contact with a large enough amount of pages to see the trends.

There is no correct way to go about things at the moment. Granted, I am not a large fish but with millions of fans worth of pages, I have a larger basis to go off of than a lot of you that comment.

For example, just two days ago I had four of my active pages get hit by a reach decrease. Over 800k worth of pages. These were not spammed with content, normally 1-2 quality posts a day with engagement levels around 30% (can anyone even expect better than that?). They were all hit and reach lowered around 95%.

In the same timeframe one of my 300k+ pages was revived, getting reach at regular levels,30-40k, after being dropped to 2-3k reach per post for a couple months. None of these pages have mylikes and rarely links in general.

I wonder if others have had a similar experience in these last few days as I have seen quite a few pages with the same situations (either losing reach or getting it back).

Once again, this is not about quality content or post count per day. Some internal algorithm is running amok, and makes facebook not worth using for non-sponsered content when there is no right way to go about things or protection against overall exposure becoming non-existant.

And with facebooks most recent earnings report, it appears this is working. With 1.5 million advertisers up from a million, these changes aren't going to be removed. Will it work in the long run for them is the question, as I am one of those that tested paid posts during this recent time frame and found it to be way to inconsistent price wise, with a trend of prices rising even with ctr growing. I am talking a tripling of cost over a weeks span on the same demographic (1million target) on link posts with ctr in the 13-15% range.

With things going from a small profit to a loss so quickly, it isn't worth my time to test more currently until fluctuations begin to slow down and costs remain steadier. I would imagine many of these new advertisers are seeing the same issues and will also be either lowering budgets or putting it on the back burner for a future date.

As a matter of fact, it's a good news for companies like FB,
if you are not a celebrity that pulls lots of crowds then you are
left with little to no choice of paying for extra exposure or be
