Repinning or New Pins?

Do both. When I used to work with Pinterest I would have the bot pinning an image every 30-60 seconds meaning a maximum of 120 an hour

Did you first vet your images that you scraped or just scrape and pin right away.

Im doing the former since i dont want any trash getting in as it seems your image is important on this site. dont want to seem like im birnign down the neighbourhood :P

Also why pin so much? doesnt it seem spammy such that it would just piss off your followers?

you should do both to seem like a normal user.
re-pin popular pins to gain followers.
and once you have a good amount of followers, you can pin your own website, but still mix in some regular re-pins.

Mix them. It works best for exposure and link building. If you create your own goods, then you can pin more, but if there is nothing new to share, then you can repin from others. Another thing is to make sure you separate them all into neat boards and have your own pins in each of them mixed with repins.

How many of you alter the original comment of your repins?

I've been doing this to make my account seem more legit, but I've wondered if I'm breaking some kind of Pinterest etiquette by doing this. I don't want any fire-breathing homemakers making trouble for my account

what is your reason to alter the repin description?
it should not be a problem if it's still similar to the original description.

I wondered this myself but looking at other 'legit' user's repins it seems they don't bother changing it either so I figure why make more work for myself.

When was that? Not sure this is safe anymore after the latest changes... they ban a lot faster now.

Actually what I was thinking is that just in general with new accounts, having more pins makes your account "seem" like it is more legit / that you have been doing it longer. Then when i request people they see that ive got a lot of pins and might be more likely to accept me. I'm trying it out and seeing how it goes.

Just do what any average Pinterest user would do and you should be safe and that goes for original pins and repins. Do other things on the site that lend credibility to your account as a 'regular user'. Most of all, focus on highest quality pins, rather than quantity pins as this will get more followers than if you are constantly scraping just any pins to repin.

do both and do them manually, the results are always a lot better

Repin can help you to get more followers, so why don't you do it?
