How Does Google Know What Plugins I use ony my WP Site?

Hi! I read everywhere that it is a big footprint for PBN sites if you are using the same plugins.. But how would Google know which plugins I use anyway? I checked the source code of several of my pages and there is not a single hint or trace that the site has any plugins at all... So, what do you know about it?

Even if I open the mydomain.com/wp-content/plugins/ url -> I see an empty page, source text empty. So is it all a myth about the Plugins footprint? I also tried to search with all these terms (/wp-content/plugins/ etc) for several of my old sites and nowhere could I see google indexing those plugin urls.

What's your site URL? I will give you a list of the plugins and theme you're using. There are loads of tools online that can find this info out for you if its not been hidden by the site owner in some way, you can also see them if you click view source of the site.

You are right, there are several tools to determine that, I've just tried one and some sites of mine couldn't hide the plugins. Others could, for instance a site which uses the Wordfence plugin and another which uses Limit Login Attempts Plugin. But I think Google can circumvent it easily unless I cloak the site or something..

I wonder if it necessary at all..? As far as the responses show - nobody bothers hiding their plugins on the PBN sites.. People do recommend those plugins, yes, but I am more interested in what you are actually using, and do you try to hide the wp-plugins at all on your PBN site?

If you believe that Google can spot a relationship between unrelated sites through which plugins are installed wouldn't it be better to just install 5-6 random plugins in every site, additional that you never use.

If plugin and theme checkers online can detect what theme and plugins are in use on your sites, so can Google. The key to building a truly private network that is undetectable is randomising everything to reduce association to minimal levels.
