How Powerful are Wikipedia Backlinks?

I recently made a few wikipedia backlinks to a site of mine and I was wondering what's the best way to
add the backlink and what's the ranking power of it.

Since the link is nofollow it shouldn't add much power to my site right? So I tried to add it by adding the
full domain like this "www.mydomain.com" and then making it a link, this way I though google would would
see the url.

So guys I was asking myself, how powerful is a wikipedia backlink?

Also does anybody has any experience using this type of backlinks, what are the chances they get deleted
and what impact do they have?

The end result is: it may or may not be 'powerful', but it surely must be an indicator of credibility when G looks at it.

The question is asked so many times here, you might want to use the search to find more detailed answers, as I don't think anyone can be bothered to repeat everything in here again. The short answer is that it is likely that they don't actually add to your ranking as such but that they might add "trust" which in the long run makes it easier to rank after all.

Exactly, it's a "trusted" link but from a true link juice perspective it isn't much.

Keep in mind though many scraper sites will pick up the link though, some of which don't/won't add the nofollow attribute so that could help.

While I really don't want to get the discussion going in this thread (considering how many more there are already), I feel the need to point out the danger that this can bring as well. A lot of these scraper sites are complete rubbish in Google eyes and can actually end up hurting your website as well. So you need to be careful with that.

Dont know how powerful they are, But its sure that they are trusted to google + its helps to rank.
