I think you're misunderstanding....bird dogging offline and getting leads from people online are two different animals....Now aint nothing wrong with finding affiliates to work for free, but, this room aint falling for it. When someone wants leads they pay for them in the online world.....unless you generate your own....
I do thank you two for coming in because this has given me some ideas. More competition is on the way.

How did you come to that conclusion? I know sometimes I dumb down my knowledge but it is more so out of guilt then anything else....in any case good luck out there.

No, I understand exactly what is taking place and looking to be accomplished. Paying per lead for homes to purchase online is a TERRIBLE business model. I have over 20 birddogs that I have never met in person that bring me deals on a consistent basis and they are local and this could easily be transfered in other markets but I will be out of singles and into multi family by the end of 09' so I have no interest in doing this. When first recruiting bd's I had to go through 100 - 150 leads before closing on 1 house as time goes on those that stick around get better and know what to submit.
While you are busy paying per lead I am busy buying houses that make me a profit and paying ONLY for that profit. Yeah you could maybe sell their info but again while you are busy spending $15 bucks for submitted info I am already tying up the deals and closing. The bottom line is your thinking is limited to "having" to pay per lead when there are PLENTY of people hungry enough to submit leads and know they only get paid when a deal closes and this "room" as I already recommended is not the group to be targeting.
And competition? I live in one of the top 5 markets in the US and I have very little competition - and you are talking about the whole US and you think you will be in competition? To put this in perspective for you... go to your local title company (not MLS) and look at how many transactions take place a year then go to your local REIA group, count how many people show up on average and multiply by 4 to get an idea of how many ACTIVE investors you have in your area and thats how much potential is just in YOUR local market let alone the whole country. Would be curious to know how long you have been investing.
