I'll start off the 'I've had worse days' responses.....
I was once in Honduras and on the 1st day of arriving I went diving without realising I had an ear infection (a very bad move)
I was already ill and spent the next several days in bed getting worse.
I also picked up a case of Giardia in the process (which is not nice)
The bad day was after almost a week of it:
I was so sick and my ear was so bad I was actually hitting my head on the wall to distract myself from the ear ache
It culminated in my ear drum starting to bleed
I had to get my girlfriend to almost carry me to a doctor on the island
He examined me and told me my ear drum had burst and was so severely damaged it might never fully heal
He told me I probably also had Dengue Fever (which is very nasty)
He had to give me a very large injection in my arse
And this is true - he gave me a stick of wood to bite on
The injection felt like he had injected sulphuric acid into my arse - that hurt for almost a week.
On the way back to where we were staying we had to get some food so went to a local shanty restaurant/cafe
I was sweating so much from the various things my body was fighting I took my shirt off
In the process I lifted my arms in the air and put them in the large metal blades of an industrial fan
Cut my finger to the bone and had to go back to the witch doctor, who pissed himself laughing.
That was not a good day
@OP - I am not trying to belittle your day - just saying in a light-hearted way, it could be worse
