Some quotes I like:
If you fail, fail spectacularly.
When the actions becomes frequent than the words, success becomes heavier than the dreams. Do more, say less. ― Israelmore Ayivor
Problem with most people is not that they dream big and fail but that they dream small and their dreams come true.
An ounce of action is worth a ton of theory. - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Dreams: 10 Reasons Why not Everybody Will Make Them Come True
1. You have to REALLY know what you want
2. You have to accept to get out of your comfort zone.
3. It takes a lot of courage.
4. You have to accept not everybody will like it, and not everybody will like you.
5. You have to be able to trust in yourself when nobody will.
6. You have to work hard.
7. A lot of people think that, those who live their dreams are just "lucky", and don't understand that they could do it too.
8. You have to accept to make sacrifices.
9. You have to take full responsibility of your life.
10. You have to have a sense of "purpose" and/or feel you have a "mission" to accomplish here on this planet.

My personal experience:
The best advice I ever heard was to take one step everyday towards your goal. Let no day pass without doing something towards your goal. No matter how busy, tired or depressed you are, take at least one tiny step. It is not a huge leap that takes you where you want but constant action and day to day habits. And habits are the most powerful thing that will pull you down or push you forward. Successful people don't do out of the ordinary things. For them it is just habit. Is out of the ordinary only for the outsider who does not possess those good habits. If you understand how habits work and you use their power to your advantage they will propel you towards great achievements. Habits have an effect similar to that of water - while apparently powerless, it flows contiguously for thousands and thousands of years and cuts into the hardest rock (think of The Grand Canyon); also, water always finds a way around any obstacle because it always flows.
If I'd have to give you advice from my personal experience it would have nothing to do with IM or techniques. Those are details which are unimportant because they are different for different people. What I know stands truth for everybody and anybody is that your mind and the way you think about things will either break you or turn you into a winner. And also from experience, at different points in time you will likely be made a winner or a looser by your own way of thinking. You will experience both. What is important is to not hug the failure, depression or destructive thinking but creativity, joy and good thoughts. Failing, being depressive and feeling down doesn't "kill" you. Not wanting to get up and out of those states will! And as insane as this sounds, it is very easy to get used to pain, mediocrity, staying down and pitying yourself and contemplating on ho shitty everything is and maybe even look for somebody or something to blame. And it is so inconspicuous that you might not even realize you're down in a comma for a while. It doesn't matter how crappy life is, how unfair, unpleasant, hard, painful or confusing it is. That is how it **IS**! You **DO** what you want, how you want it. You do not complain about the ocean being cold and deep or the sun being hot, do you? You just don't go swimming at the Arctic Circle (some people actually dare that much) and get under shade when the sun is up in the summer.
And here's a line of thought of mine that I turned into a quote, because I thought is a good one and helps me not get lost but see things as they are:
Do not expect life to be in a certain way.
Do not expect, demand, hope or wish for things or people to be in a certain way.
Do what you want and do it the best way you can.
That is all you can and should ask from yourself.
... and is enough!
and I combine it with:
I am calm, I don't care, I can do anything
Note: "I don't care" in the sense of detachment - like a surgeon who operates on a patient. Not like "I don't give a fuck about anything".
Another thing I want to tell you about - and you can
choose to agree or disagree with me on this - is that neither the universe nor God demand anything from you. "Must" and "should" are concepts
other people use to control you in their futile attempt to change the world around them instead of changing themselves. If you fall for it you become the slave of others, you stop living your life and instead give your life to them. The only things that you "must" and "should" do are hardwired into the nature - you must become into existence and you must die. That's all you must do. And while every single religion out there is against suicide, and even if something bad happens from that (e.g. you go to hell), the universe doesn't even enforce life onto you. You were given life - an opportunity - and it is up to you what you do with it and how.
