Hello

Recently I started up a new site with no SEO currently but when i set this up in google webmaster , I have this error

Unatural links to your site

Google has detected a pattern of unnatural artificial, deceptive, or manipulative links pointing to pages on this site. These may be the result of buying links that pass PageRank or participating in link schemes


Has anyone else had this in the past on a new site , if so how did you resolve , in my webmaster tools it shows no links currently to my site.

Check whether your site have any backlinks using ahrefs, opensite explorer, etc.. do you registered the domain and setup-ed the site yourself or you just bought a pre made website?

I purchased the site only links it has are to youtube videos and amazon

Unless you paid a ton for the domain I would just grab a new one and move everything over (since you're just starting out anyway). Seems like there might be some bad history with this domain, even if it's not showing in any of the tools...

Yep. We all make that mistake once. Sometimes you find what looks like a good keyword rich domain and think you're getting something special, but really its' available cause someone built bad links to it in the past and no one picked it up via auction or expired domains listings.

You didn't check its backlinks before you bought it?

Use the disavow tool. Otherwise, register a brand new domain or at the very least check the domain history on your next purchase.

Hi Thomas,

I am also facing the same issue few months back.

Initially you must check, the unnatural links that points to your website.

You can check with the help of backlink checker tool like opensiteexplorer, ahref's, backlinkwatch similar to this. (mainly in footer / blogroll / header links )

Once you remove all the unnatural links, using the webmaster tool to can raise the reconsideration request.

once you submit the reconsideration request, the manual action is revoked.

And wait around 2 to 4 weeks. Surely you get the positive moments.

for sure, that domain had history. The domain was previously penalized by Google and had some unnatural links pointing to it.

Better, get a new domain, It would be my advice!

Drop the domain and move over to a new one.
