Hello,

What is the best way to hide my backlink profile from backlinks reports programs like ahrefs, majesticSEO, SEOsplyglass, etc my more valuable backlinks from my competitors eyes? Since I heard here some people do it from what I had read.

The idea that I have to do this is by redirecting a domain to moneysite domain and putting those backlinks on redirecting domain, is that the way or there is some other way?

Thanks

Codeman

A 301 is pretty transparent, and not an effective way to hide your links.

The only way to truly hide your links is to have control over their source domain - ie, a PBN. If you have that control, you simply block those crawlers from crawling the source domain, and hence, they are unable to index and report those links.

I agree to this in the case you are 301 directly from the registrar, But if you point the dns to your hosting and then edit the Htaccess in your hosting you can still hide the 301.

Indeed, that's true too.

Block crawlers to your own domains as well as some of the properties that you control.

Hello Guys, thanks for your replies, I got some questions to all of you bellow so is clear to me

So, you mean if links come from your own private network then you just block domain from crawlers but wont this be a problem to be index by google? or even to get link to have good juice?

What I have done here is 301 from .htaccess and dns are dns from domain so for example if domain is mysite.com dns is ns1.mysite.com and ns2.mysite.com, so how do it? How I edit htaccess to do so? can you elaborate?

Thanks

Block crawlers to your own domains as well as some of the properties that you control.

What you mean just put on robots.txt Disalow whateversection link is? would that not affect on link juice or anything at all? Also would not that be suspicious for Google against private network

Thanks

You wouldn't want to block the major crawlers like Google and Bing, but you could block ahrefs, majestic, moz, etc. If you run WordPress sites in your PBN, take a look at Spyder Spanker...it does this for you automatically. You can customize the bot list as well as use their internal list. I run it on all of my PBN WordPress sites.

Yup 301s and a PBN is the way to go hiding them and what not. Then just link build in tiers to them as they will be your tier 1. That way you can check majestic or whatever to analyze your link profile time to time and if you have any links that may look like spam from a competitor trying neg seo on you, you can go disavow them in gwt. That way you have complete control over your tier 1 and you will have complete control on your money site rankings. :)

And how I hide the 301 redirect from ahrefs since I notice that is coming out

Thanks

Can someone provide me example of sintax on robots.txt and on .htaccess of how should I put to block backlinks and 301, please I really need this.

Thanks.

Are you for real? With this plugin I can hide my backlinks? Is it this http://spyderspanker.com/ ?? and how this will block ahrefs, majestic, spyglass, moz, etc?

Thanks,

Also can someone help me out with the sintax on robots and .htaccess to hide a redirect 301 domain and links from majesticSEO, ahrefs, etc? I am trying to look on google but, dont find examples of it.

Please I really need this!!

Thanks,

Get a list of crawlers other than the main search engines and then block each of them from crawling any part of your websites and backlinks sources. Popular ones include ahrefs, majestic and moz.

codeman1234,

I hope someone here is able to provide you the syntax so you don't have to spend money on a plugin. But if you do end up buying Spyder Spanker like I did, don't make the mistake I made, which is to buy the plugin from the homepage.

The reason is you'll be buying the non-pro version. Then after you do so, you'll be taken to a page to buy the pro version. I found that to be a shady tactic, considering on the main page he is demonstrating the pro version, not the non-pro version.

Someone posted a direct link to the pro version sales page. Just do a search and you can find it.

But of course, try to do the .htaccess edit first. I just wanted to give you a bit of a warning.

There is a link on WF about the codes to use to block in htacess and in robots.txt but I believe if you use robots you may make a footprint which google can track...

Hi guys,

but for example I check one of my moneysites and I have redirection 301 of other domain to it and this seems to be coming up on ahrefs, can someone tell me how to hide this? tell me syntax if it goes against forum rules to post here please send me PM with it, because I need to hide this from my competitors.

I was thinking same, is there a way for a competitor not to access my robots.txt by putting url >> www.mysite.com/robots.txt on browser so he cannot see information there?

And how can I do this with out robots? is this possible to do with only .htaccess?

link privacy
I put that sh*t on everything

Hey man, can you show example of syntax and in which file to put so we understand how to do it or at least me, Thanks!!

Hey guys,

Doing a lot of research and found some really good info, here it is for whoever is interested:

http://www.warriorforum.com/search-...site-explorer-majestic-ahrefs-spyglass-2.html
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/615015-how-hide-backlinks-competitors.html
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23728790/htaccess-subdomain-to-domain-not-working
http://www.wickedfire.com/traffic-content/166569-hide-your-footprints-competition.html

Take a look to those, really good info about the issue!!!

But, there is only one bot that no one seem to find the name and is the Seo Spyglass for new beta and old software, does anyone know this bot name to blocked it too?

Also there is some good debate in one of them that was very interesting some people seem to say that to use robots.txt to block is completely useless since most of this bots seems to ignore instructions from it and since it is connected to Webmaster Tools it could leave a footprint to Google and the best tecnich is to block all bots only using .htaccess since Google has no access to this file.

What you guys think??

I hope this helps!!

I am interested in the same, and wondering whether blocking spiders through .htaccess would be a better option to using robots?

For what I been reading, the problem with robots is that with robots you are basically asking crawler to not to come in to your site is like putting a sign in your door saying "Please do not come in" but, it seems that lots of crawlers ignore this request and go in anyway and that is why .htaccess is the effective way to do it for what I read because with .htaccess you deny them to come in basically you close the door on them. But, it seems that some people say that majesticseo crawler manages to jump .htaccess block and only robots works with this bot, personally I have no idea if this is true or not, if someone could confirm would be apreciatte!!

Also I am trying to look for the name of SEO Spyglass bot and cannot find it anywhere and most forums with this thread is looking the same.

Does anyone know the name of this bot? Because on list provide on wicked fired and warrior forum is very complete is just missing this bot.

I was also trying to see if plugin spyderspanker.com would do this but it seems that this plugin does not provide this either it seems no one knows the name of this crawler for both spyglass old software and new beta they are launching.

Also, would editing robots blocking this bots would raise a flag on Google since this file is linked in Webmaster Tools and anyone could access it on browser?
