Membership site confusion..

Hello,

I have been researching which membership site script is the best for the past few days and now I am more confused than when I started.

I think I will use ccbill as my payment processor (unless someone can provide me a better solution)

I will need recurring billing. So I want my members to sign up, pay, get access to content (if possible have the content drip, where every week they get something new)

I will also need to be able to post videos, live help (1 on 1 chat, like on many hosting sites when you get support)

Recurring billing cancellation also needs to be easy from the admin panel for the customer. What do you guys think?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

take a look at joomla and the following plugins for it

allvideo plugin - for posting videos
community builder - for handling users
aec - to handle user subscription
noixacl - to handle access control levels

this would certainly start you on your way and all are free/open source

if you have installed noiacxl make sure its enabled and all your groups are setup

when you create an article simply set the group that can see the article

Ok so what about VBulletin combined with PayPal? I'm a member of a big website over 98,000 users, and they use PayPal to process their payments, after you pay, paypal redirects you to the sign in page.
When you sign in, then you have access to the paid members section. The only difference is, that they don't use VBulletin, but a modified version of Phorum.

you would set different membership levels using noixacl

ie level 1, level 2, level3

level 1 would get access to certain articles

level 2 would get access to other articles

and so on

i will have to double check to see if there is a way of auto incrementing the membership level based on time, i think AEC can do it if not a simple chron job could be put together

Word press can be used to create a great membership site but I think you need wp-member(not free) but you should be able to get it somewhere here. also Ryan Deiss Continuity Course is a good one if you looking for more information ( again search for it here) He actually recommends WP ( hey it's free!)

Use Joomla+AEC+CB+JACL because AEC (Membership component) has integration with CB (Community Builder) for managing user and JACL (Joomla Access Content Level) for managing content so you can have all this component integrate nicely each other. I am very good with Joomla and always use it on my projects. Hope it helps.

I remember watching a video where Ryan Deiss use a wordpress with few plugs to created a membership site in under 12 minutes or sometihing like. I don't remember the exactly title and url for the videos, anyway you can google it up or search the youtube. The other option would be BFM script, althought it doesn't have all of the features you listed on your initial post. By the way am currently using it to build my site.
