Spammy expired domain and PBN?

Hello guys,

I'm fairly new and planning to build my own PBN. I recently start search expired domain to buy; but I stumbled two domains:

Both are fairly high in everything (DA & PA: 30/40-ish. TF & CF: both are 25-ish ). I did a info:domain-name.com and found both domains are not de-indexed.

anchor keywords are quite evenly spread-out that similar to my keyword. Then I found the back-links of these two sites are pretty much heavily spammed.

My questions are Moz Backlink Juice indicated these two websites have very high link juice, but is this metric accurate?

I then run these two websites at majesticseo.com; I found there is a big difference between the fresh data and historical data (DA & PA dropped to 15-ish after switch to historical data). Does this mean theses two domains are not worth to buy?

So I was confused, people said not to buy domain that spammed, but what is the implication? If spam get a lot of link juice, isn't it a good thing? I could make a PBN out of the domain and 301 to my money site?

Please someone enlighten me.

You buy an expired domain for its "real back links". There is absolutely no point in buying a heavily spammed one, since you can do this yourself.

Additionally check the wayback archive. Most likely new spammy sites were put up on these expired domains and since the spammy back links did not work, these domains have been abandoned. In this case what you are buying are the rejected domains from other black hat seo guys.

If you are getting these domains for the price of a new domain, then it might make sense to buy them. (I would not pay more than the default price). However, once you do buy them, do not introduce them into your PBN immediately. Put up a site on the domains and wait for a few weeks/months. Once the domains rank in the SERPs, then you can start linking out from your moneysite from them.

Spam does NOT get a lot of link juice - but it CAN fool the tools at Moz and Majestic into thinking it does.

Think of it this way - if the spammers who previously owned those 2 domains thought that they were proving effective in terms of SEO, do you think they would have let them expire? Unlikely...so chances are that these domain are not working in that way any more.

I'd take a domain with a DA/PA/TF/CF that is less than 10 if I could see backlinks that were worth it - stop looking at metrics and use some common sense.

Exactly. A few good backlinks are better than thousands of spammy automated backlinks. The most important step in scrutinizing an expired domain is making sure it doesn't have a spammy link profile.

Cool thanks. A interesting point I picked is, seem all the legit website,s which survive for only a short period (1-2 years) with legit backlinks are all marked with -1 PR and I cannot find them on google when I did indo:domain-name.com. All spammy sites are all ranked quite well, which caught my eyes initially. I wonder if these -1 PR sites are worth to buy, the backlinks are all clean but a lot of nofollow and the number of backlinks are between 20-50, other metrics are also quite low. Wouldn't I be better off just create a fresh site? I will try to find more info about -1 PR in the meantime.

I would suggest avoiding domains with spam links as it may be a better idea to buy an aged domain and build your own links to them.

Someone told me that of you can pick up 10 spammed domains, 301 them to a web 2.0 buffer and link out form the web 2.0, then you should get the same link juice as 1 great domain with respectable domains. I for one think he was talking out of his butt, however, I haven't found 10 spammy domains at $8 ea to give it a try. Anyway, my point being is look for domains with a good linking profile.

Let me put it this way.
If a product is low quality and is highly unlikely to last very long and has a low price on it, then it's "made in China".
If a product is good quality and is most likely to last a long time and has a higher price on it, then "made in Europe".

Think of spammed domains as made in China. They will do the job for a bit, but will break soon(ish) so don't get too attached.

Just found an article on cloundincome. In according to it, the PR doesn't matter and authority/relevance is the king.

Edit: So yeah, I m going to ignore the PR and check the anchor text and backlink quality for now and see how that goes.
