Recently I registered a domain that was expired. used to belong to an embassy in china. My web hosting sent me an email informing that the site was taking "too many resources"

Here's a picture of what it looked like,

Why would someone ddos this? It was just a 1 page blog set up - the metric aren't even that great and I can't see how there would be so much traffic or an interest in ddosing it. Any comments?

What does that picture represent? Is it gb/s?

Didn't say anything in my email, just told me that it was "GPU" resources.

Well all of that is quite meaningless... what makes you think it's being ddos'd?

Try using a free cloudflare account for it, that should mitigate some of the DDoS burden.

Well, the web hosting took down that site- title of the message was : "ToS Fair Use - Web Server Overload"

Maybe this site was bookmarked by many Chinese people, or there are still live links to it from some popular Chinese sites. You know, there is a lot of people who live in China, if they decide your site worth a visit it will be quite a ddos.

Try to make your site pure html, without database, php and other shit, this might be enough. Or not.
