Fuck that shit. You don't know what freedom is OR life until you're facing 20 years in prison over a toolbox chemistry set and drug addiction (first time offense).
Fortunately, my lawyer managed to get me a plea deal for 7 years flat no minimum mandatory.
But I was a good kid. I had & still have good parents. Good friends. I was planning on meeting a girl and starting my life.
Instead, I was torn from society by a team of almost 40 DEA agents, chemists and local police. They busted through my parents home 8 men deep with rifles, flash grenades and smoke bombs. They even had a helicopter hovering 100 feet above my house. I was thrown in a 6x9 cell for 2 years where I had 14 different bunkies. The first bunky I ever had was in for killing a prostitute. Meanwhile, that first week I'm going through extreme drug withdrawals and am not getting medicated properly. So to get through the time, I read my bunkies book about the hooker he killed. He stabbed her 4 times in the back, twice in the face, sodomized her anally with a wine bottle, then let her bleed out to death. And he even poured liquor on her wounds as she was dying.
I had to sleep with that fucked up psychopath for 4 months before I was transferred to a reception facility where someone threatened to kill me the second day I was there.
I had to watch a man get his neck sliced open and bleed out for 15 minutes before a CO even realized what happened.
I had to watch a man get his head kicked into a cement floor by 2 full grown men till he was unconscious.
I had to watch a man stick a pencil through his neck and be dragged out of a cell bleeding all over the place.
I had to watch an inmate jump on a CO and although I wasn't close to see what happened that day, the way that man screamed is forever ingrained in my head. He didn't even sound human, he sounded like a pig being cut up in a slaughterhouse.
I had to live with gangsters, thieves, rapists, murderers, and all around the most fucked up individuals you can imagine. Locked up in a shitty, smelly, corrupt ass prison in NJ where guards had no problem putting a beat down on your ass for saying 1 wrong word to them. After 2 years of that shit I was paroled and you know what I did my first 3 days out? I didn't party, I didn't go fishing, I didn't smile, I didn't drink a beer, I never left the house. I was in such a state of trauma and shock that I cried for 3 days straight thinking about all the shit I use to take for granted.
People want to talk about being "homeless"? Imagine going through this bs right before your 20th b-day -
