[How to] Obtain Professional Written Contract/Agreement Used By Competitors (As Reference)

I've seen this question asked a lot and I've decided to share a quick and easy way to obtain professional written contract/agreement that other companies use. And it's free and simple.


Simply use this query on Google

filetype:pdf "seo" agreement OR contract

OR

filetype:doc "seo" agreement or contract

Both of the above queries will work beautifully. One will result results in [PDF] and the other in [DOC]
As we all know, DOC is easier to edit and PDF -- ehh you can just copy and paste into a doc and edit from there also.

Of course, in the example above, we are looking for "SEO" contract/agreement samples. You can utilize this further by replacing that with "web design" or "Web development" if that's you're looking for web design/deveopment or web design contracts. And this goes for any other niches.

** Please note that I strongly encourage you to use them as references only, and draft your own contract - because your service might be different, and have different terms/conditions etc.

In addition, some of the contracts used by others might only apply to where they are located. So you will need to read very carefully to avoid potential trouble.

Def read them over and don't just copy/paste - I have seen some that actually had their competitors name and address in them - very sloppy copy/pasting lol

It is worth paying an attorney a few hundred dollars to go over your agreements and make sure they are iron clad for your specific country/state/etc

LOL. Having competitors name and address on your own contract will be quite funny and very very awkward at the same time - especially when the client is reading the contract in front of you. I can't picture that happening.

But I agree, once things take off, perhaps its good to find an attorney to go over the contract with you, so it's tailored to what you're offering. Otherwise, use others' contract/agreement as references and go from there if you're short of funds.

One liner with a few common file extensions added:

filetype:pdf | filetype:doc | filetype:docx | filetype:odt "seo" agreement|contract

The spacing between the vertical bars and file types is needed.

And you should mention that it's best to find one from a local company if going this route
