The world can be a very dark place if you're in a certain mindframe, more so in a career involving the internet, it can be a lonely place at times. As individuals there's not a lot we can do, however we are in a very unique position in that we can spread a message to millions using systems we have developed for spamming for our own online marketing needs.

I've seen some of greatest minds around this forum, there's a lot of messages worth spreading and everyone will have their own reasons for each. I lost my cousin last year as a result drugs, not enough people understand how drugs can alter your perception of reality, they change how your brain works. The anniversary of his death will be October 19th.

I'm planning a large scale social awareness campaign using a tool I've been developing over the last year to exploit a certain platform. I'll also be using some other techniques I've picked up over the last 10 years.

If I can get just one person on board with me I'll be ecstatic. We can create a private group and brainstorm how we can raise awareness for other issues.

Let's spread a message worth spreading. I'll be going ahead with this regardless if I can get anyone else on board, October 19th.

Thanks for reading.

So what are you planning on doing ? spamming people with a "winners dont do drugs ?"

Sorry to say that drugs work fine for some people.

Why not sell them "self help" books, offers instead?

@Duffers5000 The group will discuss the best message to spread. A message to make people aware of the actual brain altering effects, a place where people can connect and get away from dark thoughts, potential honeypots for dealers. There's a lot that can be done if you have an open mind.

@SkyrocketSEO When you work with people on the edge of life for a short time.. and end up saving those lives, you'll understand why it's worth every second.

I lost a close family also,he committed suicide, but don't know how can we prevent someone committing suicide through spam? The goal to fight drugs/suicide is great but these people need physical and moral support

I use the term 'spam' lightly. Most people are caring and will help strangers if they have the time to prevent them from doing something horrible. It can be as simple as talking people around, directing them to a community that will re-inforce the message more and intern, create a community that is capable of large scale meetups and events in real life to take this to the next level. It's not just the suicide message, the group should focus on a somewhat 'effective altruistic' level.

After I lost my cousin I went crazy. I spent thousands getting a message out to prevent suicides. It took up all my time talking each person around who needed help, I wanted to create something different than a suicide helpline - most of those are useless. I want to build a community that can help people like this and can expand into something much greater, a place where people really care. I spoke with 3-4 people on the edge when I was running the suicide campaign and have had thank you messages since, one is even naming their child after me!

Pinterest a great place to start by the way.
Lots of junkies that can be reached easily!

You try telling a pot head that smoking pot makes people loony, and they will come back with "it cures cancer you know" No helping pot heads, none at all.

I think the idea/concept is great. However, I don't know how practical it is. I also wouldn't support anything in the way of a "honey pot" approach towards dealers. I'm not even saying this as a joke, but some of them have been sucked into the lifestyle they're in similar to the way others are sucked into addiction.

I think you're idea of raising awareness of the changes that can take place in your brain and how they will effect decision making is an excellent one, but I think opening a forum, and then trying to raise awareness of the forum itself would be the best option. That way you can bring everyone together under a variety of topics. Just careful how you promote this, a lot of people don't understand addiction and can be extremely judgemental. Funny how those people always seem to sing a different tune though when it's themselves, or someone they love that falls victim.

Make Indiegogo campaign on that issue with all the proofs of good intentions. Use spam to get donators.

I sympathise with your cause mate and wish you well. I think you might have it wrong with the spam approach though - wouldn't social media be a far better platform for this type of thing?

@mickyfu You're right! I'm ok with pot on a certain level, it's more of the fact it's a gateway drug into the harder stuff.. pills and such!

@akacash Agreed with you on every point. Thank you for the support!

@PageMarketingSEO's That's a great idea, but with money involved things get a lot more complex.

@2spoons Thank you! Sorry let me clarify on that - SPAM = unsolicited sending of a message. So that covers all social media platforms. I'm not experienced enough to email blast a message like this!

I think if you send out enough "spam" you'll stop at least one person doing something stupid, something they'll regret or something that will hurt someone else and just that one person makes it worthwhile. Its a numbers game, just like commercial spam. Good luck to you my friend! I do agree with also trying social media, then it has the potential to go viral and let other people spam for you! :-)

@jamie3000 Thanks buddy, exactly, it's a numbers game! Indeed, social media spam will be the main force behind this

OK got ya, but email spam still ain't the answer. Think about those viral posts you see of a kid holding a sign saying "Dad said if I get 1 million likes he will take me to Disneyland". Now THAT'S how you get a message out and go viral. So create a bold statement that encourages engagement in a similar way and then post it in here and ask for support. Heck, I'll even post it on one of my fan pages with 170k likes to get you going!

If you need something more physical, I think I have extra box or two of razorblades around.
