Hello!

I have a WP website hosted on GoDaddy and well, after some time I found out they are not really good and their customer support is so-so. I also saw many articles which say that GoDaddy is one of the worst hostings when it comes to WP hosting and I thought of moving to another hosting.

Question now is how hard it is to make it happen? My files, DB and everything else is hosted by GoDaddy.

Thanks!

Few webhost shift whole site free of cost try them

Yeah, most charge $15 per move. But a new hosting company, eager for you custom, usually waiver this fee!

Look for plugin: WP Clone. It's all you need, it's really easy to use and works great. I've used it in the past for several websites, never had any problems. Good luck!

Which hosting do you guys recommend? I want a really good one with a good customer support. And well, it has to be fast when it comes to WP hosting.

well like the other memebers said you can ask your new hosting company to move your site for you , or you can just do it your self go to you godaddy control panel / phpmyadmin and export your database first , then download your website's files using ftp , this way you have your full website all you need to do now is create a new database on the new hosting and import the sql file that you exported earlier and set the database user and password , then upload your site's files using ftp again , and don't forget to update the config.php file with your new details (database name , database user, and password) and your website is now ready !!

You can do it youself. Its quite easy. You just need to download your wp root folder and export db files and then minor changes in the config and database after transferring it to other webhost.

WP duplicator plugin (free). I do it all the time, never has failed me yet, and you have a backup of the site too.

Whatever you do, copy, don't move the site. If it fails, the original need to be untouched so you can roll back without losing anything.

I can do this for you. If you not yet moved your site, PM me.

It's a 15 minute thing.

Move all files first. Move database. Edit wp-config.php as needed, for the new database host and login details. That's all.

PS. Back your stuff up first.

What PHP memory limit GoDaddy is offering on WP hosting ?

I once moved my WP site manually using online tutorials, was sucessfull 98%. just faced login problems. So, i created a new site, as my site was just two months old.

I would recommend Hostwinds as your new host, they will move the site over from GoDaddy for you at no charge if I remember correctly. There are several threads here about Hostwinds, check them out. I have a reseller account with them, have had zero problems so far.

Hostgator and other hosting services move the site for you.
One years ago i get a VPS from them and ask them to move a huge WP for me and they move it fine in 1 day.

I have recently transferred to d9 hosting. Great so far and very fast support responses, live chat etc. They also transfer your current site for you.
