Domain extension question(.club)

So I am in the process of creating another niche review site, and rather than an EMD this time, I am trying something a little bit different. I', not gonna say the niche, but the domain i am thinking of registering will have the word "club" in it (its gonna be a review/blog site). Is it going to be difficult to rank my keywords in google if I purchase a .club domain name? It would look 10x smoother than the .com domain with the word "club" in it, but if it is going to be any more difficult to rank I'd rather not do it. any ideas?

I'm fairly sure TLD is weighted very little in typical SEO. Just keep it short and get good backlinks.

You don't see a lot of these domains ranking because the TLDs are new so none of the sites on them have any major authority yet, and there is a bias by many SEOs against anything that's not .com/.net/.org

Using a .club shouldn't have any impact positive or negative.

i think you should get a .com along with the .club and test it out, i think in the end thats the only real way to know.

The reason I bought the .club domain was because it was a very brandable domain, and Im sure it would have been purchased by someone else with similar intentions to mine. Should I get a .com version that redirects to the .club domain(or vice versa)? The .club just is a lot smoother and more brandable than the .com equivalent, so I thought it would be better.

followback.club is already ranked #1 for follow back club and auto follow back as well as the first page for several similar terms.

I usually have difficulties interpreting your badly spun posts, but now WTH? "SEO purpose"? What does that even mean?

I also got one kickass .club domain, trying to see if I get to bother to build anything around it or just hang onto it until someone buys it from me.

Well I guess we are in the same boat then. I already started building the site and adding content, I am hoping that the domain is brand able enough not to be limited by its .club extension. Time will tell if it ranks i guess.

Would really like to know how well it fares. My own is basically just a landing page for affiliates I'm looking for my products, so I won't bother ranking it, but instead just give the URL for anyone interested to know more than my sales pitch.

If i were you i would go for the .com not just for any reason but for the fact that is the most popular and used extension.

In terms of SEO, your skills set is what matters and not the extension.

I might get a .com and redirect it to the .club, or vice versa, it really depends on how the .club does after a while

Sure, but these are first TLD's with actual (key)word in the TLD itself so nice to know how they perform.

Right now it's a matter of conversion. People trust the big three. People are beginning to trust the country ones, but the average joe will think a .club is a shady site.

It will not always be that way,but acceptance will take time. If it is brandable, in time owning it might be great, but people expect a business to be a .com or .net right now, and an non profit to be a .org.

If there is a Bistro in town, most people will trust the Bistro.com over the Bistro.club. They do not even know bout the new domains.

Al that said, split test it, you might surprise me.

In my experience quality of the website always comes first and tld later.tlds do matter but only after quality of the website

I think the fact that google itself is behind a heap of these new tld's shows us that they'll be eventually taken seriously. Primarily I think they'll be pretty crap for type in / branding because people when seeing them for the first time will think the .com or .net is missing. However this will change as they become more popular. The big plus is how damn good they look in the search results.

I'm currently getting a pretty big, pretty expensive site built for a .holiday, and I'm expecting it to greatly improve it's CTR just because it looks and sounds so good.
