Yahoo Voices CLOSES its Doors Forever!

I've got all offers from all my content. Except articles I submitted in July the 1st, yesterday. I only have one offer for July 1st. Hope they pay me for the rest of that day...

That's really bad though, yahoo is running in losses as well...
And with big competitors like G and others, they have to be really smart in their Business....

The best thing is to find out alternatives for Yahoo Voice, as there are many... Thanks

I submitted my first article on May 28th. I did completely unique articles, no spinning whatsoever. I hope I get my articles reviewed, accepted, and paid for before they close it.

Such a shame. -_-
You won't get paid for those as they state that they will not be publishing ANY NEW articles effective immediately. Best to download them and offer them for sale somewhere else or, even better, put them on your own site.

ha... "Can I publish to Voices during the month of July? No. Because the sites are closing, we are no longer accepting submissions starting immediately. Content currently submitted and awaiting review will be declined." These people are so full of shit its no even funny... They cant even shutdown properly.

Shit, just when I was trying to get into this :(
any alternate available ?

Does anyone know of any site that is even remotely similar? I mean a site that will publish things on any topics. Quality is not an issue. I never posted spun crap, it was all hand written.

There are much more sites which are paying even much more for post ( only high quality ) but I think sharing is not good idea:-)

Why would sharing not be a good idea. You are not telling anyone to spam them, just letting them know what the sites are. If they only accept high quality, it won't be an issue. The only reason Yahoo got spammed is because they accepted any type of garbage. And I doubt them shutting down has anything to do with BHW, they have been a giant pile of crab that doesnt work right for well over 2 years now.

Also, that comment severed no purpose. It would be the same as saying "Oh you are having a heart attach? I have medicine that could help you but I am not going to share, I just wanted you to know that I know." Thanks for contributing jack shit.

What do they mean by "Work For Hire" license? Do they mean Exclusive-Upfront?

I actually think it is a coincidence, Voices had been going downhill for a longtime and that sort of low quality content would just hurt the Yahoo brand so best to just pull the plug and keep a few for-hire people on.
Probably, but i'm sure the onslaught of bad articles coming from people on here and other forums made their decision much easier.

That's kind of cool how black hatters were able to shut down one of yahoo's services. It sucks for the people who actually wrote quality content for yahoo.

I must be bad luck. I start something and a company that's been going for 7 years is shut down hahaha. It happens allllll the time to me. I find something that's been working and within a couple weeks to a month of me doing it, they always crash and burn. Didn't get a ton out of it but still made a good bit. Sad to see it go but hopefully I can find an alternative.

"What alternatives are available?" is a question people should have asked, investigated and gotten answered while AC/YCN/YV was still accepting articles. There are threads in the AC/Writing forum that talk about other sites, for those interested. The reason folks mostly haven't looked for the alternatives is the same reason YV shut down---people are too lazy. Too lazy to realize the tactic had been talked about on BHW since 2008, thus its revival might lead to Yahoo shutting it down, for example.

Too lazy to write articles that aren't obviously spam or spun, for another example (the thread that got moved to Jr.VIP specifically described it as spinning content from EzineArticles). Too lazy to notice the idea made no sense from site's point of view (why would Yahoo even need dozens of crappy articles from hundreds of people coming in every day?). Too lazy to just use it as an interim method of making money, or to finance longer term money makers (so many here kept talking about it as their main source of income, or complaining that it "paid too little upfront"). The point is it paid ENOUGH, and upfront often enough, to partially reimburse one for writing content that could be re-used on their own sites, for a bigger pay-off later.

So, another useful cookie-cutter ruined. I'd suggest newbie people utilize what writing alternatives they can find or tolerate, and keep it more quiet. It would also be good to dust off or re-read the 'curation of best posts' sticky thread in the making money section, and re-start from there:

Oh come on. It has nothing to do with blackhatters flooding Yahoo Voices. Before, when Yahoo Voices was Associated Content, there were many people uploading articles that were garbage. That didn't stop Yahoo from paying for AC.

What probably happened was all the Google updates finally took its toll on that site and others like it. Not to mention, Yahoo took all of Google Adsense ads off their site and replaced them with other ads (which probably pushed down earnings even lower). Yahoo Voices isn't the only pay per view/upfront payment site closing its doors. There were many that have closed or are in the process of closing. Gone are the days of so called citizen journalists. From what I understand, Yahoo is hiring big name professional journalists to help them play the Google Game.

Bottomline is Yahoo thought they brought a money train, which they did. Until Google changed the game on them. Writers could have continued to write garbage and Yahoo would have continue to pay for them, if Google would have continued to allow Yahoo Voices links be at the top of search.

I agree. I REALLY DOUBT BHW HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS!

Why would it? If they were getting garbage content, all they had to do was shut down those accounts and reject that content. Simple! Not hard to do! I personally submitted a *couple* of spun articles that were quality, and MY OWN original content (which I get back now, according to the Yahoo email, which is nice for everyone, because now we can use that content somewhere else).
