Seo tips for a newbie

I've basically set up two of my first sites. One full of content, the other has has a landing page, an faq and a "tips" article.

I'm trying to rank them up obviosly. The keywords don't seem to be too competetive.

But I am having trouble even getting indexed with one of the sites. The other site has been indexed but the text it shows in the search engin is from like 2 weeks ago.

This is what I've done so far. Submitted to 100s of directories with both sites. For the content one they were all top directories PR7,6,5,4 FOr the other website they were all PR 1,2,3 directories. Only around 10 have accepted my links.

I wrote an article and distributed it to 10 article directories. All linking back to my content site. All got accepted.

I think that's about it. Now I am looking for just more sustainable way of building back links.

Any tips and suggestions will be appreciated.

None of the backlinks I mentioned above are even indexed yet....

Any tips will do really. i am thinking of submitting to more PR 0 directories and writing some more articles. I've been trying to find a sustainable way of findnig blogs to comment on, on my topic but only seem to run into one or two bloggs.

looking to sustainably be adding 10 links a day.

WILL appreciate any responses.

first ill suggest get firefox plugins they help you to find PR easily
then build links via social bookmarking sites > digg/stumble..etc...
then build links via submitting articles > u already doing that
then try and make USEFUL blog comments in blogs that are do follow... place ur website link in URL feild and u have ur link... try and get backlinks from authority sites...
put images and put your links...
submit to directories...
submit in forums(but contribute)

well to find blogs... go to google and find your niche blogs..
for example if u have golf as ur niche then golf + blog
and with the firefox tool i said to put...(seo plugin) you will also see if the blogs are ******** or not...
post comments on all the blogs that are do follow and sooon u will RULE THE WORLD..!!!!

There's also a free tool called comment kahuna, but it kinda sucks, plus the guy will try to get you to sign up for every newsletter ever made, so set up a spam email account.
