A Game Developer's journey to $5,000 a day!

Almost finished the next game. It should be available on the Play Market tomorrow! :)

Earnings for Runcraft so far: $7.03

It's climbing up nicely on the Hungarian toplists, hope to see it in #25 soon.

Good job man! Hope you the best and keep us updated. Hope to see the next game soon!

Don't advertise your Runcraft game, you'll get sued from Mojang like fucking hell.
You completely ripped off their whole design of the game =/.
I suggest you think a day or three about a game, make up your imagination, smoke something and relax.
Get new ideas, a lot of ideas, do a lot of games, one of them will eventually succeed no matter what.

Sooo... I don't think he owns the copyright of block based games, especially when my game has nothing to do with Minecraft's game mechanics. Okay, the player and the environment are very similar to Minecraft. (btw I don't think he owns the copyright of brown haired block themed guy characters with jeans either :D) but I'll draw a little more different textures once I published the new game and got some free time.

Hey, about Runcraft. Did you made it from scratch or you took source code and reskined it?
And if you made it, which program did you use, which language, and where from did you learn that language?
Thanks :P

This is a great journey to follow. I wanted to start programming apps on the Android device, bought a few books and learned basic coding...

Then I took another route for the time being writing and making about $100 a month after only doing it for a month. I think next fall I want to start coding again though.

I will be following your journey, and will DL all the games you post and give 5* reviews as well. Good luck!

I like the positivity here. Such a stark contrast from reddit... OP keep on trying, the payoff is not immediate, but if your product is amazing then people will take notice...

GravyBot's not at all what I expected as I thought the bot should be running, not bouncing on its knees. It's still pretty good though. So how's the promoting going?

Hello BHW,

Let me introduce myself. My name is Martin and I live in Hungary, a small country in the heart of Europe. I'm doing internet marketing for more than 4 years now and I had both pretty successful and unsuccessful businesses in the past. My other passion besides internet marketing is developing games, especially for handheld devices (iOS, Android).

Until a few months ago, I was making a LOT of money from my websites but I got lazy and everything collapsed. I got depressed, and I lost all my inspiration because of it but I knew it was my fault.

In the past few weeks, I started to feel inspired again. I wanted to make something big, I wanted more... wanted to make MONEY again! And I thought why not do this with something I love to do...? Developing games! And then, I started to WORK all day and night to make this happen.

I started this thread to keep my inspiration, inspire others, and to book my goals and progress.

PLANS

  • Release AT LEAST one game every month, but keep in mind: "quality over quantity"
