I wont write a long ass review because im too lazy to write down all the awesome things Peter and the hostwinds staff have done for me since moving my operation over from another host. My running costs for servers have been reduced to less than 20% of my previous provider.

My previous hosting bill was pushing $10,000 a month, with hostwinds I managed to get the same service for $1800 and the customer service is the dogs bollocks.

I have been a customer of Hostwinds for the past six months. Great customer service and friendly. But I just hated their verification for payment system which requires phone verification as I do not feel comfortable giving away my mobile number for verification. Well, this is just a matter of personal preference but I will sum it all that Hostwinds is a reputable and recommended service provider. Hostwinds did not pay me a cent nor give me any special deal to write this review. I am just an existing customer giving my own point of view.

what about spam and abuse complaints. I see most of the complaint coming from software even we use private proxies.

Looking at your TOS it seems quiet clear that you guys don't accept spam, how the hell is someone gonna run GSA without getting into trouble???

Well if you check the GSA forum.. there is an topics that even use private proxies, host receive spam complaints.

i not want start a discussion here , but he might not have use it correctly or some other reason.if you will use private proxies then only the proxy owner will know about your vps ip and i will suggest to change proxies.

There is a big difference from using a windows VPS for spam and running tools such as GSA

We define spam as the sending of UBE or unsolicited bulk emails, as per our FAQ SEO tools are fine on our VPS's

yeah man, he must be doing something wrong. I mean that's the sole purpose of using private proxies, if they doesn't serve that purpose they're just a waste of money, lol.

I'm confused - wanted to test you guys out so I bought a small VPS. Says instant setup on the thread. Received an email saying it would be set up in a half hour. OK. But now it's been ~6 hours and no communication. Really wanted to get something running on this today. Have tried to connect via remote desktop already, but it gives an error. I don't think it's been set up yet.

Could you please look into this? I also sent in a support ticket.
