Hi,
i had a pinterest account which was about 3-4 months old.It provides a steady traffic to blog.yesterday i posted an image from Google images to my blog and share it on few pinterest boards and it get me around 100 uv visitors fast.but now when i tried to log into pinterst it shows my account was suspended. Remember this was after 1 post .And earlier few weeks ago i used to pin a lot using the some auto pin programs and it doesn't ban me.But now after just one post it bans me.Is it because the pin was gaining traffic fast??? i mean did they only check the pins with gaining traffic ???
Also what should be the next step.Is there any way to contact them

IMO, this could be due to a lot of factors.
1) It may not be necessary that your account got banned due to the last post, but because pinterest found out about all your past posts.

2) Due to copyrighted content.

3) Someone reported you.

4) And yes, getting traffic very quickly might have made you look suspicious. Maybe your pin would have got on the first page for its category type, and hence the ban.

Thanks for the input man,
Yeah i think may be some one reported me or due to copyright issues. But i also think that they only checks your pin if it gains some traffic. Is there any way to try to reinstate the account

I agree with PassionateWriting, it was probably reported by someone for copyright infringement, and then all of the other pictures would have been reviewed as well. From there they also probably detected suspicious patterns of posting (botting).

For pictures, don't use the first pictures that come up on Google, and I like to use different search engines of free stock photos so that I don't have to worry about copyright issues. I also try and strip the file properties before uploading any photos anywhere just to be on the safe side, and give them generic names as if they came off of your iPhone or something (i.e. IMG_4586).

And unfortunately, Pinterest and Instagram don't really have any ways of contacting support, so when accounts with them are banned it's best to just move on I guess... I will look into Pinterest and get back to you if I find anything, but I know for a fact that there is no way of contacting Instagram support regarding these issues unless you're with law enforcement.

Good luck and sorry to hear!

All of the above. You might try to contact them and ask for details, but I doubt they answer.

Actually i contacted them from the link in the help page and got a reply in my mail which instruct me to reply to the mail if i think the ban was unnecessary. So i replied them and waiting for the answer.the link to contact them was found from

Yeah they should let you know exactly why they banned your account. They responded back to me in around 24hrs and the reason was right on the money.

Pinterest has tons of copyright violations going on, but either way they'll let you know.

Lots of bans going on in Pinterest this month for next to nothing. I have a feeling someone is using a flagging bot or people are just on a mission to get rid of spam in some niches. It could also have something to do with "promoted pins"... if an image has been used in an ad that would bring a ban, also they maybe cleaning up before rolling out advertising to everyone.

Time to get smarter when it comes to Pinterest marketing... I am running several tests to try and find the sweet spot again.

my account also got suspended 2 days ago.i have contacted them using above link.
let see what will happen.i will update this

Now because you were using a bot along with copyrighted images, I don't see a chance of the account getting reinstated. And anyway, IMO, these social media sites don't ban accounts without a reason. But when they do, they usually never unban the account. Or at least that is my experience with them.

Keep up your hope! I had my account suspended once (possibly flagged by another user), I sent them an email asking to reinstate my account and without any hassle they reinstated it. So if your account is likely to be normal, you shouldn't be too worried.

Because you're trying to spam. I know about pinterest strategy never take down like this. So, better next time safe and use proxies...

Yesterday must have been mass-ban day for Pinterest. I noticed an across-the-board drop in followers for my accounts. Just get in touch with them and request for reinstatement and be sure to ask why you were banned so that you may avoid the issue in the future. Hopefully, your account is good enough to pass a manual review. Also, be extra careful when pinning on group boards you don't control. That's where you'll likely be reported for spam by other pinners.

Make sure to check whatever your are posting. Also you should use safer bots like PinPromoter to make sure you're not flagging your account.

Use proxies.
Dont follow more than 100 per day.
Dont pin more than 100 per day.
You'll be fine.
Just make a new account and build it again, it wont take long.

I will never understand how you people come here and bitch and cry about....How and why you got banned!!!Its because you were using a bot and spamming : /

Does anyone notice this weird thing?

When I invite anyone to group boards they get banned instantly or in a few hours.

Maybe that's because spam, so I did a test:

I got a very normal account, no spam, and asked my friend who live in other city (different and normal IP, he never use pinterest before) created a new account, and we followed each other, after a few minites I invited him to one group board, and after half an hour, he accepted.

Weird thing happend, he got banned instantly!!

Man...just before i got banned i accepted an invite to a group board !!!!!...Dont know if this was a coincidence or something. But after reading your post i also doubt a possibility.

This is alarming. I am trying out a pinterest method which involves copied recipe and adsense. Looks like I would have to change my plan. Pinterest ban is not a factor because I can create a new one, but adsense ban... quite a trouble :S

Pm me your recipes. I will change them just a tiny bit so the end result will still be a great food. I am an avid cook and baker and create my own recipes. I can help you so the recipes will be your own. Then you will have the added bonus of putting a warning on your site that the recipes are yours, and to please not copy, but to share the link instead.
