Hey, so I have a rep from someone that still shows as a notification. I clicked it dozens of times
and it still hangs on there not going away. Been there forever, but it would be nice to have 0 notifications for a change.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I think you are stuck with it Mate.
I think a few other people have the same problem.
Hey, at least it wasn't neg rep or that would be a kick in the teeth lol

Yeah lol that would suck for sure, however I hope I am not stuck with it. I mean sure
its not the end of the world, but I would like to start from 0 instead of 1 all the time.

Thanks for the reply,

lol looks like I am stuck with it huh. You would think it would go away.

I think I remember seeing another post similar to this a while back right after a big update they did. I think it only effected a very, very few amount of users though. Unfortunately if I remember correctly one of the mods did say that the person was kind of stuck with it. That was a little while ago though, so maybe they have a solution for it now.

Thanks Akacash maybe a solution will come along :)

I haven't been on in about a year, I have notifications for rep comments too that I can't dismiss.

Well looks like I am not the only one then :) By the way welcome back.

We're looking into this now, we've got a few ideas. Thanks for mentioning it. Will update here when more info becomes available.

Bring it back, then problem solved! :)

Yeah, well temporarily bringing it back, clearing all notifications and then disabling rep MAY fix the issue, but could cause other problems, so we're looking into it. As a permanent option, the reason it was disabled in the past was due to rep abuse. We are working on another system that will stop rep abuse, but enable people to still give some kind of review of fellow members.
As always, suggestions are appreciated.

+REP for this.

I would support bringing it back.
To limit the abuse just remove the anonymous feature and anybody leaving Rep has to leave a reason for doing so.
Anybody abusing the system should be banned.
Maybe only showing peoples negative rep would be a good idea, that way people aren't trying to increase their count.
The neg rep feature was useful.
I don't know, I realise it is a tricky subject so good luck coming up with a solution.

just make it public, any one can check that who gave you rep and from which post.

it's working good on many vbulletin forums.

It was public though, or just for some? I was under the impression that JR VIP and higher could see who gave rep/made rep comments.

Sounds good to me.

JrVIP and above could see who gave them Rep. I think Prab is saying to make everybodies Rep public, so I could see who gave Rep to you and who you gave to etc.
