Hey BHW,

I suddenly thought of this because personally I never really reward myself with the amount of money I make or the things I have achieved.

Either they sit in my bank account or they are used for business expenses. I never really thought of buying anything for myself.

So... do you have a reward system for yourself ?
e.g: when your keyword reaches page 1, buy yourself a 2nd tv
or when your website traffic reaches 1k per day, buy a 3rd monitor

I would love to know whether BHW members do this for themselves.

It would probably be too much work to set and keep track of goals for little things like that. I just work hard and decide if I can afford it at the end of the month. I can see how it could motivate you, but once you're at a certain level its all just ROI on money and time. So my one ultimate goal is when I've made enough money to dedicate a whole week to not giving a shit about making money, i'll take an awesome vacation to somewhere where the drinks are cold and the titties are huge.

I would love to get myself a 2nd monitor for my workspace but everytime I get my paycheck, I wouldn't take action to go and purchase it eventhough I can afford to buy like 10 of them.

That's a good way to motivate yourself. Yes treat yourself!

I agree with Back2Basics post. It would be far to difficult to pre-plan rewards for my successes. I am far to busy worrying about making it happen! Plus, when you finally get to that point you may not want that Chanel bag with cute bows and ribbons and actually want to get a Ford Mustang instead. At the end of the day, you should enjoy the rewards of your success but as for planning it in advance, ain't nobody got time for that.

Dude, it's a tax write-off, go buy it and improve your productivity. Do not skimp on things that can save you time, especially when its money that will just end up in the governments hands anyway.

I have the exact opposite problem, if I make $50 today I'm gonna spend $50, if I make $1,500 today I'm probably going to spend $1,250 today and the rest tomorrow. I got a habit though...

I primary use money on thing that makes me happy, and i get satisfied when i log onto my adsense etc. and see higher earnings than last week. So if i should reward myself, i would spend my money in a way, that will guarantee me even more money :) Or use them on vacations etc. depending on how much you earn ;)

Sounds like a lot of people have a lot of money they dont really need, well I know how to solve that problem

PM me for more info :D lol

OP I'm actually going through the same thing just like you lol. I haven't bought anything for myself a while. I want new headphones but I just don't want to spend the money for some odd reason

The education is spending my money for me, ...fucking education

it's called a beer, and i reward it to myself everyday. and theres jack daniels which is a treat on massive paydays, and then there is snow, which comes automatically when ur rich and hav junkie friends.

I will check it out. This isn't the first time I heard of that book.

I'm reading "Start with Why" from Simon Sinek and just completed the book "How to win friends and influence people"

1 of the reasons why I do that I believe is because I'm afraid of spending the money. That's why I brought this topic up where we setup a reward system for ourselves so when we reach each milestone, we HAVE TO get the reward.

I think this would make our lives happier overall.

Deliberately reward yourself when you're doing well and working hard. I feel good when I buy stuff and when I'm buying stuff , I always feel like I'm gonna make more money. And I usually do.

Whatever you'd enjoy , buy it. Afterall , what good is money in the bank ? Are you going to live your whole life through a pseudo sense of 'security' by looking at numbers , or are you going to enjoy the fruits of your labor and let that serve as fuel to get more $$$
:kev:
