Goal is set - 250 articles. Work - work! Submit and monetize website/adsense

Jaaaarhhh..

Good day today - I managed to produce 5 articles.
Tomorrow when I have some spare time, I want to find more keywords - also write 5 extra articles. I want to complete the semi goal before the "deadline"

Semi-Goal: 20 articles before 01/06

Progress so far:

Final Goal: 250 articles
Articles done: 8

I'll say this. If the niche isn't good then all those articles won't bring you the traffic you are looking for. I started a site some time ago and I have 125 articles at this time and get MAYBE 1 visit a day from google lol. So I can safely say my niche is too broad and just terrible. I wish better luck then I have had and I also believe my site is more of an extreme case as I have yet to see anyone else with that many posts and so little traffic.

Just curious, who shoot for 250 low search kws instead of writing less articles but a lot higher monthly search keywords + a little bit of backlinking?

I'm sorry to hear that. That really sucked.
125 articles must be worth something, can't you sell the site on flippa or something?

I do :) I'm learning the game, you gotta start small aye?

The reason why I want to wait is to give some content to the end user. Going to a flat 1 page website in my opinion doesn't offer anything to the user. There's no related post and suchs.

I understand that, but at the same time I highly doubt anyone is just going to stumble onto your website with its single article. I'm not saying the way you're doing it is wrong or anything, I'm still learning this stuff too, it will just be interesting to see how it all works out for you.

Anyway, great progress so far. I think your goal is definitely achievable. Just don't burn yourself out on writing.

Since your project failed, care to share that niche with us? For science!

Good luck on your journey! 250 articles is a hell of a lot (to me at least) but I'm sure you can do it given how much determination you seem to have!

Good luck mate -- your strategy works (it did for me).

Keep posting content, and keep an eye on improving its sharability in terms of social media.

Over time you'll start getting search engine traffic if your content is good and your website design isn't half bad.

Then go for the conversion.

I agree with BTB, I'd probably start when I had 5 articles under my belt. Are you just doing adsense, or are you throwing in some affiliate links? Either way good luck and stick to the journey:)

Interested to see how this will work out for you. But I really think you should do some backlinks. If you just take 5 of those articles and make some quality web 2.0s out of them you'll probably get several times the amount of traffic to your whole site than you would by simply adding an extra 5 articles. Here's an example from one of my little side projects I've had running recently.

The red line is where I made my first and only backlink, a single page wordpress site consisting of a badly rewritten article. The difference is rather impressive for 20 mins work.

Yeah it is just Adsense :) no affiliate links

Thanks for sharing your stats - That's impressive for 20 min work! Will do some backlinking later on if the low comp kw aren't ranking.

Right now I'm enjoying writing articles. Today I just finished a 3500 word article for a kw with 4400 searches pr month. There is actually no comp, so looking forward to see what this will bring later on!

Final Goal: 250 articles

Thanks again for the support - Means a lot to me and it fires me up to work even more. Later ^^

Alright. Here's a short update.

Finals coming up in school, and I'm feeling it's hard to produce articles, while reading for the exams.

Anyway, will go back on full focus on the website when exams are done. When ever I have time, after my offline job. One thing is certain - the 250 will be reached!

The site is live!

There is absolutely no need to wait for the 20 articles to be completed. Post them as you write. The sooner you post your articles on your website, the sooner they'll get indexed.

And to put your mind at ease, it is indeed possible to rank for low competition keywords without building a single backlink. I know this because I've done it. My site, with just 5 articles, was ranking #1 for a couple of keywords bringing in about $20 per day in just 45 days. I did not build a single backlink, nor shared it on any bookmarking or social networking sites. Accident? Google goofed up? I don't know. But it's still sitting pretty at #1 after 6 months.

But in all honesty, I'd use some of those articles for building web 2.0s if I were you. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks man! Just posted the 9 article I have. Took the keywords in a keyword checker and looking forward seeing the results. $20 for 5 articles, that's just great. Congrats

I probably could but I ended up paying for quality articles that cost me 15 bucks for like 400 words. So I doubt I would make the money back but I also am sure I didn't do proper backlinking as it's my first go at a authority style site in a while. Another site I started when I had no clue how to build links and has only 15 articles on it gets like 30 visits a day AND has a google manual penalty haha. It used to get way more. Just left that comment to make sure you really do great keyword research and have a good niche so you do not waist your time. Good luck! I hope you succeed.

also I have no clue why that quote got messed up. Typing on my ipad and it's proving to be a little difficult for me haha

Wont say the exact niche since I still have hope for it and it makes me some money but I will say its kinda broad in the fashion niche. My easy keywords just seemed to never rank. I also built some links to the pages I wanted to rank but never had any luck ranking them. And I'm talking different links with blogpost links in the mix. I also used a 8 year old pr 3 domain I had to build the site on. :) so it had some good age to it. So I just think the niche was too broad and the keywords where not good enough.

Ezine does seem to be a good place to find ideas, thanks for that. After hundreds of articles its easy to get stuck with no ideas.

Fair enough. I doubt niche being too broad makes it difficult to rank for low competition keywords. If I were to guess, it's either on-page seo or link building errors that were your culprits. How did you get that penalty btw, mass spam?
