Quick Simple Trick To Move Up For Your Main Keyword

Are you the same guy banking hard by ranking empty emd sites? Why would you need pages, titles, keywords in titles, blah blah...

Well if you have wordpress and yoast installed on your PBN which you should all you really have to do is put your main keyword in yoast, the post title, and the tags and you're golden...It doesn't seem necessary to do anything beyond that.

Uhm, I was talking about money sites here, not PBN sites.

Been doing this for ages and never got me into any trouble.

Maybe you didn't know it but when you install Wordpress your site name appears naturally in every post/page title, so if you have any keywords in your site name you would be screwed according to your opinions, which isn't the case.

Yes genius we didn't know it, actually can you tell us more about WP ? We are eager to know.
And blog name/tagline is usually why you get over-optimization penalties, especially if you have keywords like "blue widgets", "green widgets" etc... and your blog contains the keyword "widget" at least.

But anyway, there are 2 MAJOR flaws in your technique:
1. You will trigger the over-optimization filter 10x easier.
2. Your pages will start fighting against themselves and this is completely useless to do.

Instead you could write articles about other things related to your main keywords and interlink between them and rank all your articles for specific keywords. The more articles rank, the more the pages become valuable, the more your inner links will count -> higher ranking for your main keyword.

1) This does not trigger any over optimization penalties so keep your theories for yourself.

2) If your pages start to battle for the same keyword just because you add that keyword in the title of other posts your offpage SEO sucks big time

Besides that, this works without needing to add extra back links, the more links you create the higher the chance to trigger Penguin

Not really sure what have happened to BHW. When I came here, this felt like a good community and people actually had smart conversations about different aspects of BH and WH SEO. Now BHW seems very hostile place for anyone who is sharing any info, good or bad.

I'm sure that SEOBS have his own agenda to share any info, but most of his posts have been actually either interesting or helpful for those who are just starting their IM career.

Being polite doesn't cost anything!

thats how I see it 2. For me as a newbie it is intresting to read. and even if he is wrong no need to bash that poor guy ;-)

This is called 'Keyword Stuffing'. It probably worked really well 6 years ago.. As other members have said, I'd avoid this technique.. You haven't been clear about it, but it looks like you're basically saying spam your kw all over your page.. You're basically saying: :spam:

If this was called kw stuffing then not a site on earth would still rank for it's own site name don't you think?

I assumed anyone who was building PBN's was doing this... it is indeed an appropriate thing to do :)

Hes talking about it on money site though. I see this crap all the time.

Hydroxycut review (homepage)

is hydroxycut good for you? (posts)
how does hydroxycut work?
how much weight will I lose with hydroxycut?
Why we all love hydroxycut?

Then internal link all posts > homepage

I see this crap ranking all the time but never actually tried it because it seems stupid.

Seems like you would have content canabalism issues and your keyword all over your theme.

It works, it always worked and it will always keep working in the future for the simple fact that the majority of sites on the internet use their site name in the title of each post/page.

You have to be careful with your keywords all over your theme though, as there is something called over optimization due to internal anchor text links (although that's a lot less sensitive then anchor text's from external links), that's why I'm always careful with chosing category names when I build somewhat larger sites (100+ pages) and that's why I often avoid "recent posts" widgets as once I build a site I only keep expanding on it till I reached a certain momentum where the cost of content doesn't weight up against the increase of traffic.

When I add my main keyword like "best tablets" to half of my pages (often cause the other half of the titles already contains that phrase and it looks stupid to add to pages like contact / about us / disclaimer / tos) I use Yoast SEO for that so that it only appears in the title and not in the titles that show up in the categories or on the content of the posts/pages itself.

You all thought the post titles on my categories or posts/pages (h1 or h2 tags) would look like this?

- Blackberry Playbook - Best Tablets
- Apple iPad - Best Tablets
- Samsuing Galaxy - Best Tablets
- Google Nexus - Best Tablets
- Kindle Fire - Best Tablets

Maybe I should have made that more clear in the original post but it has become such a standard practice for me that I didn't think of it but come on, you guys could've figured that out yourself.

Yes, it works. I am doing it from time to time.

If backlinks are low quality it will help. If you have good links domain should rank without moving your keywords in the middle of title.

It doesn't matter whether your links or low or high quality mic, you can gain an additional advantage with this no matter what.

Someone else said why not rank pages similar to the key phrase and link them back to the main page. Yes you can do that as well but why stop there when you can gain huge advantages by a little simple trick, it all adds up and you can reserve your links to rank even more pages.

I run a blog network that consists of 400 active sites, spread out over 80 unique IP's, that means I can only have links from 80 domains as I like to keep up with 100% IP uniqueness. What I'm gonna do when the 80 links are used? Sure it can rank a ton but tough keywords like "best tablet" need a little more then links from 80 domains. Maybe if the 80 domains were solely dedicated to that tablet site I would've ranked top 5 but it's part of my network that is used in my SEO service so the domains are shared with clients (hence the 400 domains on only 80 IP's).

Besides that, 80 artificial links are not the most ideal thing either, you don't want to add paid link after paid link, as no matter how you look at it, paid links do leave footprints, if it's only cause of the high pagerank / amount of link juice, as you can diversify as much as you want with different CMS, pure HTML sites, different type of links (blog posts / blogroll / footer) you never get rid of the massive juice per link ratio footprint.

How you gonna dillute that? By adding spammy links and risking to be penalized? Or wasting money on web2.0's and such to make such weak links look legit? (very ineffcient way of using a budget). No, you are going to look for other ways to improve rankings further without needing additional backlinks fand then a simple trick like this truly does wonders.

When trying to rank a site you should always aim to use as few artificial links as possible.

Shall I tell you a little other secret that leads to over optimization? Something that's very hot lately? SILO structures, that's what you have to be damn careful with these days as everyone is doing it wrong. When you look at Amazon for example they use SILO's in a proper way, but here on all the forums they do it in such way that no navigation is left anymore. Excuse me but when I visit Amazon and end up deeper on their site I can still access many different sections without having to browse to the homepage first.

So next time when all of you have something to complain go attack such threads that do include a huge risk to your rankings instead of attacking something innocent like this which happens in the exact same way all over the web.

I still can't understand how to apply your tips . would you like to give an example.

If you have Wordpress then Install the SEO Yoast plugin.

Go to "All Posts" or "All Pages"

Edit your post, and go to the Custom SEO Options field below your post (if it doesn't show up then click on View Options in the upper right corner of your screen.

In the field SEO Title change your title, if your title reads: "Google Nexus 7 Review" then enter in the SEO Title field "Google Nexus 7 Review - Best Tablets" if best tablets is your main keyword obvious.

Update the post and that's it. Now it only shows in the title of the post without it appearing anywhere on your page / post / category or where ever, only between the <title></title> tags in your header.

As I understand, this trick will work if you want to rank the main keyword of the homepage...
All posts titles => Home page

What if I want to rank a post or a sub page with sub keyword ?
Should it be " some posts titles with sub keyword => sub page !!

To each their own, I wouldn't optimize multiple pages of the same site for the same keyword.

Place your main keyword in half of your post/page titles and you'll move up in no time.

Yes as simple as that, by doing that more of your pages/posts will start to rank for your main keyword, no matter where, and links from pages that rank for your main keyword are automatically more valuable as links from non ranking page.

Do make sure that page links to the page you want to see ranked obvious.

I've had competitive keywords move from #23 to #12 in a matter of days, saves you a lot of link builidng.

Thanks OP very much.

OP, I am TOTALLY confused now, please help??
If for example, I want my keyword to be PBN, which should I choose?
You understand, I looked up PBN and got these results, which is the correct one PBN for this thread?
Or will write and article on each to topic to get ranked?

Mosts posts/pages have the tendency to link back to the homepage naturally due to the Home link in your main navigation or header so that's easier yes.

In case you want to do it for another page you should use internal linking.
