Shopping Carts

I'm watching a documentary about supermarkets, and in it, they talk a bit about shopping carts. It seems when supermarkets were first created, all they had to carry their food were these small metal baskets. One carries them around for long periods of time, eventually, they'd get heavy and tiresome.

A man then had the idea, while looking at a folding chair, that if he were to take that chair and put wheels on it, and put a basket on it, it would be easier to carry.

Anyway, when he introduced the shopping cart to the stores, people didn't like them. Women were all like "I just pushed a baby stroller all day, I do not want to push another thing on wheels." And men were like "what you don't think I'm strong enough to carry a basket?" So they had to actually hire people to push carts around the store and FAKE like they're real shoppers. So when a real customer would come along, they'd be shown that everyone else is using shopping carts, why not them?

Obviously, the shopping cart took off from there, and every bloody person uses them whenever they shop today. So when you're trying to get your fiverr gig up and running with fake reviews, or youtube vid going with fake comments, think of this neat tidbit of history.

It was on the Bio channel in the US. Forgot the exact name of that particular episode, but the channel likes to show tidbits about how food is made and its history during the weekends. That particular one I was watching was about the history of the supermarket and its future.

Lol, what are the odds that there could be 2 hidden meanings behind that post. Believe it or not, I was actually making reference to a character Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys. I am a big fan of The Wire though too, and it's funny how that fits just as well here. I actually thought for a second there might have been a t-shirt with Bubbles and a shopping cart that was popular or something, but then I remembered how Bubbles used to push them babies around, 2 or 3 tied together. "Bubbles Depot" LOL. I'm sure there's plenty of people who think I might as well by typing a foreign language right now, but I got a laugh from that.
