Just getting started with CPA Lead, I've built the first content locker and all looks great. I have one question I would like to add onclick event to a link, ie on clicking the link the content locker is shown.

Thanks for the post. It would be #2.
The reason being is that fake content is absolutely brutal. Even if a lead is legit, a lot of users complain and get refunded anything they've spent. In other cases,
its worse, they complain and the advertising relationship gets lost entirely - those are worth so much more than a lead that its not even worth entertaining.

Finally, we're very clear about the policy. Its EXTREMELY easy to offer "real" content to users or to find a way to deliver value. Fake content is considered fraud and absolutely brutal to everyone involved, the Affiliate won't get paid, the network has a boatload of issues, the advertiser goes through a lot of problems and can lose their ends then finally, the end user gets scammed.

I own today's CPAlead and it is a very different company than the one you worked with years ago. We haven't done any business together as far as I know and while I would love to work with you so that I can show you what my company is all about, I understand if the name "CPAlead" causes some trepidation. We've never closed a single account without a clear explanation and as you'll see, I don't beat around the bush. Thanks and welcome to CPAlead.

You can choose how you want the Content Locker to behave when setting it up with our wizard in your Dashboard. You would click "Create" under the locker then a step by step wizard will take you through the rest. We even allow customization via HTML and or CSS (you can also choose from a template if you wish).

Nice work on @CPALEAD ... i am trying to use the html link locker - i prefer to customize the look but at the moment your system only proides the <%access_button%> tag . This is a real conversion killer for me since i want to control the flow (usability) i rather have the offers show up on the appropriate page once the use tries to access my links. No pop ups or anything, just the html pages with the number of offers i specify.

How do i get this done ? Is there a tag i could use.

We made the change of including the download button since Affiliates said that it converted poorly when we popped the survey panel immediately. The user doesn't get to see the download page at all and they are hit with ads before knowing what they're doing.

I suggest using the Content Locker vs a page if that's the goal since you can allow the locker to activate whenever you wish, immediately if it serves you better. We're looking at an option to allow it to pop immediately on the download page as well but our last change was made for reasons stated above. You can customize the page 100% with our download / file lockers but if its something where you're not engaging the user and hitting them with the surveys immediately, the locker itself makes more sense there I believe.

okay now I am confused or perhaps I communicated poorly.

adscendmedia has a link locker as well. The old lockers was just black and white with a. Simple 1,2,3 - stating what a user must do to start a download - conversions where fine when I used that. I simply I framed the page so my domain name still sat in the browser URL field.


adscendmedia's new link locker - in my experience has far less conversions. Maybe it's simply because I hate it.

Note: I don't use gateways cos of adblockplus and the rest of its kind. Sometimes a user might have JavaScript turned of.

i would just like to know if there are other ways a publisher can build his link locker to suit his site design - this from a UX perspective . This link locker behave just like a gateway - you click and it pops up.

Can I have a simple white HTML page with the offers on the page (maximum of 3).

is the coding robust enough to allow me specify the position of each offer?

The short answer is yes I'll send you a PM shortly with details. The system is extremely robust and our custom HTML (or CSS) options allow Affiliates to create whatever they can envision with as many user friendly shortcuts as possible.

We're also always making updates and you can create a link locker that behaves exactly like a gateway where the offers instantly pop up without anyone having to click on a button if that's what you wish.

I have been a member on CPALead since 2006. For about 5 years, I was earning $1.5k/month on auto pilot on real content sites (content locking, virtual currency). Since a year or two, earnings dropped steadily and now I only make about $50/month. Yes, my traffic dropped steadily also since I focus on other methods now but I just lost interest in CPALead after seeing half of my leads were/are getting charged back, I was skipped a payment and banned because a certain survey completer on my site "abused" your survey's (is that my fault?), then later unbanned when staff admitted it wasn't my fault (but balance erased) and now my account is on an earning level way lower than all my other content locking networks. I suspect that you have several levels of accounts with different conversion success ratios.

I am reading about the "NEW" cpalead but I haven't noticed any difference in my earnings at all. On the contrary, they dropped even further (steady traffic).

I just hope you have good intentions with the new members that you are trying to attract and I wish the CPALead staff were as supportive (and generous with gifts) back in the years.

2 questions:

1) can I promote offers using direct url? (it was possible a couple of years ago then got removed)
2) can I offer cash rewards on virtual currency widget? or only point and soft incentive?
