backdating articles on a site about to go live

Ok, So i have a site newly made up...but not live just yet.. it's based following a professional athelete..

I have articls rewritten for content, but the new seson starts in few motnhs and also the world cup.. in the mean time, i was thinking will i rewrite articles abotu footballer from 6months ago, just to have archive and content on my site.. or is it pointless, i bought the domain 2months ago..

Would it be in anyway beneficial to me to write up some articles for my site,, and set dates to around when matches/events happened.. or is it pointless?

footballer is relatively new to publc and will continue to get better im hoping..
there is a 400,000 search month for his name at moment,
but know site for him,
low competition, 0%,
CPC is 0.60 for his name, but i want to use this as a project to learn from, to work on bigger site..

Any tips or advice?

Personally I think it is pointless if you want to do it for SEO purposes. I believe google looks after the date they first index the content and not what you claim it was published. Google is not stupid. They know people backdate. If you want to do it for the users it is a good idea though. Users trust a website that looks like it has been around for quite a while a lot more than a new website.

Google is not stupid, as Google is not a person. Google is only as clever as the people who program it.

Well it will only be around 10/12 articles.. just to have it looking like it was there from the start and a timeline/archive kind of thing...
Could someone maybe recommend anyone who could do 10 rewrites and check keywords and use keywords..? Write it properly, i want to see how they do it to learn from it..

No Patrick,

Just leave the dates alone as it won't make much difference. In fact, visitors will like to see a newly established blog with fresh content. It makes them feel good as its a new website and they may stepped into a goldmine.
