Google's Search Box Optimization

you're all drunk, have fun in your bubble making no money!

Re: Alexa comment... i had to post stupid stuff just to PM you dorks.

So here is the shake out:

It seems that he wants me to pay between 300 and 450 per month, but will not answer questions.
At $450 a month, waiting 3 months for results, you will have to invest $1350 before you see a thing.

I asked for an explanation, and give this gentleman some questions to answer. How long has this been running for a website, any bad ramifications, how long to take effect, how long does it last, and so on.

I also asked for proof run on a site i built and control.

The reply i got was:

I know dozen of business that are using this. it has not hit main stream yet

but the impact is f*cking huge.

It's not even black hat... it's safe.

I wrote back and told him hat he did not answer my questions, his response:

Don't be an ass, it won't get you anywhere.

What question didn't I answer?

This was my response to him:
Here is a hint, when someone wants to do business with you, don't call them an ass, it won't get you anywhere.

These are the questions you didn't answer.

Is it permanent? If not how long does it last?

Does it take long to go into effect.

Most importantly, how long have you had a successful run, and what effect did it have on the target site?

Is it traceable to the end user? Are there any footprints?

But never mind. I do not wish to do business with you.

Looks like a scam to me, not willing to answer questions, unwilling to prove it works, money up front for months with delayed, promised results.

Even if it is true, this guy is not the guy to do business with.

EDIT: It has been pointed out to me by the OP that he did answer some of the questions, the entire e-mail was:

Just giving you examples. Relax.

It's THAT simple... pick your keywords, if they are available I'll get you the price.
It's monthly, no contracts, no cancellation fee.

When you stop paying, the Auto Correct keyword goes away.

Depending on the competition, could take 30-60 days to go live in the search box.
The results are simple, you dominate the whole page for your keyword.

I know dozen of business that are using this. it has not hit main stream yet
but the impact is f*cking huge.

It's not even black hat... it's safe.
I apologize to the OP for this omission. It would have been more proper to say that he failed to address my concerns.

Him telling me to not be an ass sorta ticked me off.

I have also apologized to the OP in an e-mail.

So you think posting 15 stupid comments makes you look more legit? CLOWN!

One thing for sure is that he is not a businessman. He has no respect.

You want my money you come to me with your hat in your hand.

I am not an SEO guy etc however I have thought about this from a reputation management POV.

Let's say you want to get rid of bad auto suggest, you type in a fictional company name ABC LTD -

Results are -

ABC LTD
ABC LTD Scammers
ABC LTD Stole my money

Etc

Could you not set up a bot that intermittently searches Google using proxies for terms like -

ABC LTD great customer service
ABC LTD fantastic product

etc?

Depending on how many searches ABC LTD gets a month would change the amount of bot searches you do, maybe 50% more than the terms you want replacing. After a couple of months the bad terms would be replaced by the new good terms.

As I said, I am not an SEO guy, I am not even a bot guy, from the naivety of this post you might assume I am an arsehole, but I wont hold it against you.

Would like to hear thoughts if you think this method would work.

I think its worth testing

This guy is probably a search engine honey pot. It's funny, certain times of the year you get like 10 or 20 new threads asking stupid questions and offering weird services where the OP clearly does not want sympathy or sales. They just want you to contact them or enter your data on their site. Remember we're dorks because we asked about his product. If I had tens of SEO's asking about my SEO product, I'd be glad to answer every question no matter how obnoxious it was.

No that's not my video with the crappy techno music playing.

Steven, stop lying. I never said it took 90 days to go live.

You're all just jealous. I now know why I stay off these terrible forums! ;)

You are correct, please see the correction to my post above. You did say up to 60 days.

My potential losses would only be $950.

your potential gains would thousands my friend. look on the bright side!

Why don't you start charging when the effect kicks in?

That way your customer doesn't have a potential loss.

Drock101 is right. This does work and it is completely safe if "done right". Amazon Turk or bots will not work.. It has to be real people (thousands) which is why this is extremely hard for SEO companies or people like you and me to implement themselves. For example lets say Brad Pitt (I have no idea why that came to mind BTW) went out to his Twitter acct. and said Hey guys, I need you to do me a favor, go to Google and do a search for Orange County Plumber + [Business Name] and thousands of people went out and made this search. There would be a buzz right... Real people searching for a location + keyword + Business name. (exactly what Google wants). Now lets say this happened over and over again throughout the course of 30-90 days. Its real people searching for something and before too long, your new long tail keyword will start competing with Orange County Plumber because there is way more buzz surrounding it and that is exactly what it wants to suggest to its searchers. If Google sees that kind of search volume from real people they can only assume that it is very popular and should be suggested.

I am actually using this myself right now to rank for keywords in my business. I have seen it personally work and those who are using it around me are getting a ton of new leads on a monthly basis.

So let me ask you... If Google finds out, which they do already know about it by the way... How can they came after you? If it is real people searching for a keyword and your business name... There is absolutely no tie in to your site whatsoever. The results would pull up everything about you (Your website, Yelp, Facebook, Linkedin, Articles written etc.) So how would your actual business be penalized? This happens every day from a social media standpoint. Actress walks into an airport with a book, people see it in the tabloids and now everyone is searching for that book online. You Google the actress name and in the auto suggest it says actress name + book if it had enough buzz surrounding it.

If you search Brad Pitt, what starts to suggest? First its his name, then its Brad Pitt fight club right? This again happens because of the search volume for his name and that movie. Now all of that is on a large scale. Imagine this same algorithm for a local business in Orange County that has 300 searches a month... Again, with enough buzz from real people you will be suggested.

In my business if doing this even brought me 1 client, it would pay for all my keywords combined and I am spending $1,800mo on using Search Box Optimization. The search volume combined on my 3 keywords I am ranking for is over 5,000 searches a month.

Now, I am also a complete skeptic of anything like this but after doing my research, looking every direction to see how it could possibly not work etc. The benefit still outweighed the bad. We all throw money away on stuff that doesn?t work in marketing. There is never a guarantee on SEO right and the time frame on that could be way longer depending on your keyword. Sometimes you just have to take a shot and again the more you look into this, the more it will makes sense. I even went in and read Googles patent on the suggested post to find a way to say it was a scam but that made me even want to do it more haha

Remember, SEO is against Google's policy too. What you may be doing now might be penalized next month. They want you to pay for ads! I actually spoke to two different people from Google about this search box optimization while researching it and they both told me not do do it... I asked them if I should do SEO and they said not to do that either. I then asked what should I do and they said use Adwords.. haha Thats all they want you to do is pay...

So "holy crap" that's my rant.. Maybe Drock101 didn't sell it right. I don't know him but I would look into it first. I?ll keep you posted on my results as well :-)

Enjoy your day!

FYI - This is only a brief understanding of how it all works. There is obviously much more to the algorithm etc. (Real IP's, Location of search, time on results page etc.)

Why dont you guy quit being douche bags and listen! To the 14 year old douche bags that think this dRock isn't on to something, you just need to go else where and say hey to you babysitter.

This is an open forums for discussing internet marketing techniques and you childish banter is required or needed!

dRock, very interested in this. We have been doing some research on the topic and found your thread today.
