What I don't understand is how can one make a considerable amount of money with a 1000 searches a month keyword? Like, OP, what do you mean by "perfect content locking keywords"?

1) If you can rank a KW that gets 1k searches per month, you'll get 30 or so (give or take) US uniques a day.
From those 30 visitors, let's say you can convert 20% of them on a $1.50 offer. <- this is easy with my bait 'n' switch method. Traditional content locking will convert around 10%.
That's 6 people @ $1.50 each, so $9/day, or $270/month. 3 keywords? Now you're at $810/month.
1,000 is also the minimum. A lot are above 1k, in the 2-4k range. You'll get some traffic from long tails without even trying, too.
In conclusion, don't let the 1,000 number throw you off - just follow the money.
2) By perfect content locking keywords, I mean that what they are searching for simply does not exist.
For example: a coupon to eBay for free shipping. This does not exist -- each seller sets his own shipping rates, and eBay can't step in to offer a coupon and take money from them.
So, it's a perfect opportunity for content locking. No actual companies (RetailMeNot, Coupons.com, etc.) will be competing for the keyword. Your only competition is other thin, crappy content locking sites who aren't even targeting the keyword directly.
To add to that, if you use my bait 'n' switch method, it almost guarantees they do not try to get this free thing from anyone but you.
