Linkbuilding for reputation management

BHopkins - Can you please explain to me some of the recommended ways to build such links? :)

Sorry, I spend a large amount of time and money figuring out what links are effective and build links. This is without a doubt one of the biggest trade secrets that I protect.

It is always cheaper to go with established sites, that you can somewhat manipulate, that happen to have good authority - I call them hero properties. Creating new properties can be a real timesuck, not to mention, they are new, and thus little authority. Certainly if you can get something exact match you will be laughing, but 2.0s tend to look a little bit spammy these days. Most of my ORM clients wouldn't be pleased to have one of them on first page over say...a linkedin page. Mind you, that would be a hell of a lot better than a RoR page lol! If time is on your side, and you have a little budget to play with, and EMD is a good way to go, and you can make it look as legit as you are technically able, or can afford. This is usually my last resort. I start with the likes of LinkedIn, Twit, Yelp, Wiki (if I can get one), previous press, job sites, forums, etc. ORM is so fun because it requires a bit of creativity. When you are choosing your properties, you want something that can take a pounding (links) and that you can optimize a little bit. Have fun!

This is dangerous advice that I'm surprised you're giving. If you have a client that has someone posting negative stuff about them and you push up Yelp and Wikipedia, what do you think unhappy person is going to do? Publish negative stuff to Yelp and Wikipedia and now you've shot yourself in the foot and made even more trouble for your client. If you truly do reputation management I'm surprised you haven't considered this or seen it in action.

Those types of sites are called "potential negatives". They might not be negative right now, but they have the potential to be negative so you shouldn't push them up.

How can i remove negation comments from complaintsboard. Can you help me please. what will be the cost to remove.

You can't remove negatives, you can suppress them. That is the process of pushing them down in the search results and promoting positive content. When someone searches your name or business name they only see the positive content. We do a lot of alter ego's as well where we push up information about someone else with the same name. This is effective if you don't care to have a public presence online.

I am bootstrapping myself with the same "alter ego" game plan (SEO are out of my price point). It creates a lot of volume static that makes negative be pushed back while simultaneously being diluted. My question is if you take over page 1 with web 2.0 and other social media what is the likelihood .gov or .irs press release infiltrates? If so, what is the SOP?

It is very likely that a strong domain will eventually come back up through all of the low quality stuff. You need a combination of high quality, low quality and stuff in the middle. Diversity in your domains, types of sites, TLDs, etc. You never know what the next update will focus on let alone what is going to work right now.

You need to plan for the immediate results but also for 3 years from now. What is likely to work a few years from now? What will work today? Most people focus on what worked last week. Every SEO/link building service I know of is focused on yesterday and today. Nobody looks at what is likely to work long term. As a result everyone goes crazy with every update because their sites fluctuated.

SOP for a negative moving up is to push it back down at no charge to the customer, at least I do it that way.

I suggest you to go with off page optimization and high authority links...
