The Truth Reason Why Your Adsense Was Banned

It can be entirely possible as many of the international companies do it on an institutional level - think banks, mobile companies
Every drop adds to the ocean.

This will only matter if they run out of publishers to fill out their ads and they are never short on that account.

I call bollocks on this one and this is my main reason:

By stealing 1 month's revenue / profit from a customer you are also throwing away ALL future profit / revenue from that customer.

What company in their right mind would do this systematically to their biggest customers?

That'd be like a casino banning all their 'whales'

When you work under a well trained executive they are born to manipulate and treat you like their children, you fear their disappointment and so you push morality aside.

This is true, and it's a real problem unless you're pretty strong-minded.

Almost entirely bullshit.

If you're a quality high-traffic publisher Google will look after you, even if you have your account suspended they're willing to negotiate if you remedy your issues. 99.99% of people complaining about Adsense bans either thought they could get away with clicking their own adverts, had very suspicious traffic sources or violated the Adsense Terms of Service with only a couple of daily visitors to bargain with.

I have reason to believe this is somewhat true.

Not sure if you guys remember recent news about how ViralNova.com makes $400k/month from adsense.

Well his content is almost 100% stolen but adsense still hasn't banned him. Would make me think that the profit from his account is enough to place him in the "green" or "VIP" group.

Whereas I've seen people with extremely original and helpful niche sites getting banned literally hours before payout.

Think about it... Why do most of the bans happen the day before payout day? Why do publishers mostly get banned close to specific earnings 1k, 5k, 10k etc.

I guess a lot of you guys would think:

"1k doesn't mean anything to a billion dollar business like Google"

Well, they have thousands (maybe even tens of thousands) of publishers reaching high payout levels every month. Doing this could easily bring in millions of dollars worth of easy revenue every month.

Remember that each Google department is constantly under pressure to perform. Their innovation has dropped and their cash engines are burning at full speed. Remember they're a listed company and every quarter is scrutinized to the last decimal.

And if you still think big corporations don't have time for something like this, just remember the great Ebay affiliate scam in it's early days.

It is a sure fact, Google could act irresponsible leaving you with no options but to give up.

Because once your traffic/earnings reach a certain point, your account gets flagged for a manual review, pending payment. And your account gets canned on payout day. It's not rocket science.

Exactly.
Do you expect Google to have a team of managers reviewing every single account in real time? It's a pretty standard practice to review traffic legitimacy etc prior to a payout, it happens with pretty much any affiliate network.

And what's your take on why sites with stolen content like ViralNova get a free pass but a high quality niche site gets the boot?

This is true but than again we have thousands of publishers who have same site and same account for years..They had many payouts before then suddenly they receive a ban hammer for no reason..You can search for acme.com case where he lost his account and only because of Matt Cutts did he ever got it back..We can just speculate on a reasons and why bans occur as i think 99% of the publishers know they cant fool google and try to earn a few bucks more by clicking themselfes and also why would someone even try to do that when he is making 1k or more a month...
Only thing that keeps me to believe 100% in this story is business stand point where this kind of behavior simply doesnt make any sense..Why ban someone over 1k when you are going to make same amount off that same guy in just 2 months ..

I am full of bullshit.

You are infected with Stockholm Syndrome.

It's on the Internet, so it must be true...

I'm not saying it isn't plausible, only that it's highly unlikely. Think about it, at the rate of employee turnover Google has, coupled with the big sizes of AdSense teams (yes, there are several, in many places), wouldn't you think something like this had surfaced much, MUCH earlier?

I don't doubt that they treat their VIP's preferentially, but to downright steal from publishers, on a systematic scale? I seriously doubt it. I do however think that "guidelines" have been applied far to strictly in many cases, but I wouldn't necessarily see this as an intention to defraud publishers.

It's highly unlikely because you essentially say it's highly unlikely... You realise that's circular logic right? Because you proceed to ask a question not state any reasoning for, "highly unlikely".

Your reasoning is that the lack of a previous disclosure makes this disclosure unlikely... would you like to know what type of logical fallacy that one is?

How do you think people make their money? Is Google innovative? hahaha. No. Even that Glass is a joke as it's the 3rd gen. Very old stuff. But being available to the consumer it's new so they can get away with it and have a known, upgrade path. They do what everyone does, which is f people over.

Next guy;
"they are a multi-billion dollar company I have a hard time believing they did this."

How do you think they became that? Do you not realize that they want to stay a mult-billion dollar company? Did you see the last quarters earnings? Do you understand the difference between GAAP and non-GAAP earnings?

I'm just amazed in this baseless faith and that's what it is. You never worked there, you don't know anyone there. Heck your unlikely to have ever even spoke to someone from there who has a say in anything. Yet it's attack the messenger...

Next guy
"That'd be like a casino banning all their 'whales'"

Which is what most of them have done. You do realize that gaming ISN'T the main source of income for casinos in Las Vegas anymore, yes?

Other guy gets it.
"many people are blinded by the 'personality' of Google,"

Yes... personality of a website... Which comes from the website. I mean holy f guys... Scary thought processes going on here.

Other guy
"Don't compare spilling NSA secrets with spilling corporate secrets."

You do realize that in the 90's the CIA was caught spying on Volkswagon for GM yes? You probably think their looking for Mohammed in Aol chat rooms. Life in prison is a death sentence.

Same guy.
"I'm still leaning towards either a disgruntled employee or just a hoax. "

The author clearly states his motivate is one of disgust at people being ripped off.

You're trapped in a modality of thought, whereby you're attempting to gauge the voracity or the truthfulness of information based upon how it makes you feel, upon first hearing and seeing it. That's the worst way you can judge information for truthfulness.

Other guy.
"if you have your account suspended they're willing to negotiate if you remedy your issues."

You mean if your willing to accept less? hahaha.

"99.99% of people complaining about Adsense bans either thought they could get away with clicking their own adverts, had very suspicious traffic sources or violated the Adsense Terms of Service with only a couple of daily visitors to bargain with."

You know 99.99% of Adsense users with a complain... umm hmm.

Funny how nobody notes the absence of large Adsense checks the past few years. Remember when everyone would post those? Internet traffic grows, sites get better and yet, earnings drop massively. For everyone except Google that is.

You guys know Matt Cutts used to work for the NSA right? Just an interesting note, like how after the CIA's VCC, In-Q-Tel invested in Google that it became what it is today. Has anyone looked at the history of their board members? Because the entire place is run by former, CIA,DOD,NSA,FBI people. A coincidence am sure. All the crazy comments by Schmidt, his involvement with that... 'women', the stuff with Sergey and his wife. This is public stuff and yet.... Search revenue is where ALL the money comes from. How many times have they been in court for something?

from pastebin/DXTu8Mcm

I am the former Google employee that had leaked the information regarding AdSense. I am writing this second part as a response to certain misconceptions and confusions my previous leak has generated within articles and websites regarding it.

Firstly, many have asked why I did not approach the leak in a more official capacity and bring my information to the attention of law enforcement. I want to make myself perfectly clear, my employment documents (such as the NDA's and non-competes) have very strict wording when it comes to releasing internal information in regards to processes and privy information. Google is not just some little company with little means of repercussion. They have gone after other internal leakers and were successful in damaging and ruining their lives on multiple levels. I do not want to be the next one.

I honestly believe very little would have been done if I had brought the information solely to law enforcement, even on the federal level. Google would have simply lawyered up and made it go away (which they have done before). I felt it was better to release the information to the public and let the publishers who suffered the thefts bring forth a civil case against Google. I think a civil action against Google will carry more weight to it, and have a much stronger outcome to the public than a federal case would. The second reason would be that my identity would be front and center if I had approached law enforcement, and if Google were to have squash it immediately I would not have been able to anonymously release the information to the public as a backup plan. The third reason is fear. I do not want to be in the direct identifiable crosshairs of Google's legal department. I have taken very extreme measures to cover my tracks and identity. I know what they can do, and I know which services and servers do what. I have made sure everything leads to dead ends and that tracking will be virtually impossible. I wasn't hired by Google for my body. I know, right now, there is a team inside Google working very hard to track me down. They will scour every service and product they have access to in an attempt to find me. But they might as well quit right now, I am an insider and know the inner workings. I know the how's, the why's, and who's. It will be quite futile on their part, but I will still exercise extreme caution.

In regards to my wording of the leaked information. I had planned and carefully thought out every word and every way I had said it. Everything was planned. The timing. The wording. Everything. It is not by accident, nor are there any accidental omissions. Of course I was not going to use terms only employees and former employees would know to explain everything. That would be simply foolish. I kept it informative and only mentioned a few select terms so that Google themselves would know I was who I said I was, because only an employee would have known. So everyone must know that I wrote it for the public, not for Google employees.

Lastly, and more importantly, there has been lots of talk about my information not stating any names and that I did not provide any hard proof. Many individuals have brushed off my information as a falsehood solely due to that and claim that I have nothing substantial. I want you to go a reread my previous information release. Where did I exactly say I did not have proof or hard evidence?

Because I do. I have communications. I have documents, I have files, I have lists, and I have names. I have all of it. Like I said from the beginning, I have carefully waited and carefully planned everything out. I do everything with reason and purpose. I have to be exceptionally careful in every way. So you ask why haven't I released it? The answer, if I release everything I have now, it will give Google too many possible avenues to discover my identity. Also doing thing such as publicly naming people and giving Google a pre-emptive look at what I have will only make them prepare for the class action lawsuit that will hit them. They won't be caught off guard and they will have time to come up with excuses and explanations in attempts to rid themselves of this issue. I do not want that to happen. I want the people to win. I want those who had money they earned, that was stolen from them, to get the right to fight for it on equal grounding. That is why I have chosen to only release it to the legal representatives of the class action lawsuit against Google in regards to AdSense. If those representative decide to release it, then it is up to them, but right now as it stands, I will not. I will carefully monitor the situation and wait to see how it forms and pick the right timing for the release of the evidence to the legal representatives. If several months go by and no class action lawsuit manifests, then I will have to selectively release a few key pieces of evidence to the public at large.

The information and evidence I have is extensive and quite detailed, it will also paint a very different picture of what Google is really like to the public.

For those who have a difficult time believing my information I ask you to simply ask Google and their representatives the right questions related to my first release of information. Force them to answer those questions specifically. Ask them "is there a VIP status for publishers", ask them "why do account bans always seem to occur just before payouts", ask them "why do you fail to provide reasons and evidence of your allegations against publishers". Keep asking such questions, keep digging, and you will come to find out by yourselves that everything I have stated is completely true. Like many have said, it will be difficult for them to hide it now.

Google is incredibly innovative, far more so than a huge number of other major tech companies, though I don't want to name any fruits. As someone who as actually used Google Glass, it's pretty incredible, and this is before the hardware is in the hands of the hacker community. And Glass is only an example of an innovation they're developing which has a lot of 'buzz' at the moment, Google are working on a huge number of innovative projects which don't have as much public attention.

I'd go as far as saying they're one of the most innovative technology companies of the modern day. Compare them to Apple, Microsoft, IBM, etc.
All were innovative back in their heyday or recycle other innovations tirelessly with better branding, very few have any real contribution at the moment.

I'm just amazed in this baseless faith and that's what it is. You never worked there, you don't know anyone there. Heck your unlikely to have ever even spoke to someone from there who has a say in anything. Yet it's attack the messenger.

Speak for yourself.
Google isn't some godly entity which is disconnected from reality, they're an employer just like any other.

Most of these things are already known by veteran internet marketers, and now they just have been verified.

Well, I would like to see a lawsuit get started by the banned publishers. I would happily participate in it. Google banned me the same way a year ago.

Disclaimer: Just before some one come screaming and rant that i am self promoting. It not my website , just read the content and close the link.

Sod them Eclipse, with 400+ posts and a Jnr VIP member to boot you have earned the right to post a link here and there! I'd much rather listen to chaps like you with something useful to say than some noob regurgitating the same old nonsense threads time and again

On the subject of the thread title, did anyone see the pastebin letter posted on Hacker News yesterday. It was supposed to be from an ex Google employee and gave pretty damning info about Googles war against decent adsense earners.

Very poor spelling / grammar though, i'm not 100% convinced it was a real leak.

Update - I went onto Hacker News and tracked down the original post:

http://pastebin.com/qh6Tta3h <- The original pastebin letter.

https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7667976 <- The Hacker News comments.

I dunno how other affiliates feel but I've long suspected Google of culling accounts just before a good payout. I don't think i'd ever touch them with a bargepole (Just as well because the less they know about how I rank my sites the better) !!!

Do I look like I actually give a fuck? Shit, I need to learn and stay out of pointless arguments on forums, doesn't really make me money LOL. So back to making money for this logic-lacking mofo. :)

Just to nitpick, the "leak" states this practice began after 2009, at which point they were already a multi-billion dollar company.

Anyway, that's it from me in this thread. Unsubscribed, over and out.
