Newbie promoting

Hey guys,

I'm a newbie on IM and I'm currently setting up my osCommerce in order to sell some services (not SEO services though ) and in a couple of days it's done. The hard part for me is promoting.

I've seen here so much thing about marketing (backlinks, affiliation, social media, etc...) that I'm completely lost and I would like to know what are the best "tools" or ways to promote your online business on a first approach.

I've only 50$ to spend on this first stage and I would like to know how to spend them wisely according to your experience

Budget is tight. Find places where your target buyers meet. Approach them directly. Forums have always worked for people with little to no marketing budgets.

I also forgot to mention that I've a 1GB Windows Server VPS, can this be usefull to promote?

I've read a post here to hire a freelancer to do that forum things, is there any website which they are cheap?

Next month I can get another 50$ to invest on IM, but right now I don't know where to apply this 50$ :s

Try looking at fiverr gigs. Be cautious, do not spend that 50 dollars on any seo services. Any seo service that costs less than 50 dollars isn't manual made and will hurt your website in the long run. If you build some manual web 2.0s (websites on wordpress.org for example), than you can use those spam services on that blog but never direct spam to money site.

Promotions... Look through the forum here, there's plenty of free methods to gain traffic. Good luck.
