Private torrent sites are the best IMO.

There are bunch of private torrent niche specific and as well as general ones. You can hookup to their IRC channel and try for an invite. General purpose general private torrent sites are torrentleech, torrentday , iptorrents. You have to maintain seed to leech ratio on most of the private torrent network or else your profile will be blocked after a pre-defined timeframe.

The Pirate Bay is probably the most consistent besides Demonoid, but not everybody has an opportunity to get into Demonoid (which is pretty retarded in my opinion, but it's understandable).

iptorrents is the best torrent site in my opinion i have been a member since 2008 and i cant fault it its a private site so it weeds out the bluffers lol, i have a few spare invites spare for 1 or 2 ppl especially for any of the ppl that run blackhat because this is a top notch site.....!

In terms of private trackers all the ones mentioned above are pretty easy to get into. The best site would probably be FTN. No ratio. But you'd never get in. After the fall of SCT and FTWR the next top would probably be SCC.

Demonoid used to be the best; was a one-stop tracker for almost anything worth downloading IMO..
FTN is a good private tracker...so is TL
Among public trackers...Kickass, Torrentz & PB
