Video + Unique article = 0$

That is correct, but do we aspire for sporadic sales coming from huge volume of un-targeted prospects OR do we strive for consistent sales from fairly few videos but with very focused viewers with their wallets open?

Mike.

wouldn't have said it better really. All I can say is your sample set it very small to decide on anything.

Make 200 videos instead two, so if you get 3000 views on each, you will definitely get a sale. :D What do you use to produce the videos, i mean, do you use templates, edit other videos, or use a paid software like videoscribe or animoto?

The shotgun approach can work, but overall the sniper approach tends to give better returns.

In addition, with YT getting stricter and stricter on quality, I'd say it's now more important than ever to have quality videos, rather than template or worse - re-uploaded - ones.

Concentrate your efforts on a few videos for which you'll try your best to receive both link popularity and appreciation in the form of viewers feedback. Link to these videos from every RELEVANT source of content using the optimal link anchor and advertise these videos wherever you feel it will actually benefit your audience (tip: the videos need to have useful, viral and sticky content).

Mike.

I'd like to add that ideally, you'd want all the videos in a particular channel to deal with the same topic/niche. This will help both for ranking purposes and to build a subscriber base that is targeted and more likely to trust and act on your advice.

Michela,

Did you implement any of the suggestions provided in this thread yet?

If so, any update would be appreciated.

Mike.

Looking forward to a (hopefully great) update too!

P.S. Make sure you have a good read through the YT section of BHW for tips and strategies on ranking your videos and getting the best conversions possible.

The people are too stupid to understand the basics.
If you want to make long term income from your online business,
my advice is to start a website, write good and unique content (take your time here, make it VERY appealing and good),
target the commercial keywords and slowly start building high quality backlinks to it.
If done right, you should see at least 1k visitors a day to your website in just a couple of months.

Michela,

It has already been discussed numerous times here and in other forums that low gravity does not necessary mean low conversions.

OP, keep in mind that we are not simply talking about the words you use on your page (whether you use download or buy).

We are talking about the keywords you are RANKED for in google; as this will dictate what type of visitors you get on your site.

The only way to verify that would be to split test this keyword (which is obviously geared towards freebie seekers) with other phrases using the SAME landing page.

Hi Michela,

Start by researching your keywords (go for targeted buying mode phrases).

Divide your phrases into themed groups.

Create a RELEVANT landing page for each group of phrases (with a presell content + call to action + opt-in)

Invest in a tracking software or service.

Start a PPC campaign with Bing.

Weed out the non converting keyword phrases and slowly you'll end up with a small winning list.

Promote the same offers to the subscribers you gathered on your landing pages.

Rinse and repeat.

Mike.

OP, if you opt for PPC, make sure you have a good background knowledge of it as you'll be needing to put up some cash upfront.

Have a read through the PPC section of this forum:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/f13-pay-per-click/

Make sure you read up on targeting, and bid settings.

Before signing up for a PPC network, look up promo codes. For example, bing have a $50 coupon code offer for new users.

Once you set-up a PPC campaign, NEVER let it run on it s own. Test and monitor continuously, until you find a combination that is consistently giving you high returns. Then, scale up.

I would like to add that you can research and outsource PPC management, monitoring and administration. Once you find trustworthy guys/gals who can monitor your campaign and expenses, it would become almost hands free and a very leveraged business.

Mike.

Op, first of all. Does the keywords for the product have enough searches / month? If it is in the 1-5k search / month and you have even 1% conversion do not expect much!
