I apologize if this question is stupid...I'm a newb with SEO. IKnowSEO said that it was good for tier 2/3 service. Can this not be used on tier 1 (wordpress blog with article linking to money site)? Will it cause any negative effect to the money site if I use these links for that tier 1? The money site is not a churn and burn, so I don't want to damage it if so.

Do you mean you want to use it as tier 2 and 3, then it is ok. As long as you don't point it directly to your money site.
