Ok, I'm genuinely curious - as a Brit, it seems the flag-waving, patriotic hoo-hah stuff from that side of the pond is everywhere - is this true? I spent a few months in the states but never saw much of this sort of thing, so is it confined to games / schools / camp America? Are there many people who rebel against it?
Ok, fair enough - we don't all assume your country is a hotbed of seething nationalism, though I realise there are pockets (the South, the Centre...)
I should point out I had nothing but warmhearted welcomes from your countrymen during my visit, more than I can say for parts of my own...
