I think I have a decent idea for a porn site experiment. I most likely will not have any videos but may have some pictures. I will also be having porn related content. I am just wondering if a simple 1$ host located in north america would allow for a porn site of this nature? The domain itself will also be very porn related and graphic, such as: asian-triple-dildo-ass-fucking(dot)com (example obviously).

Same question with registrars. Does namecheap allow dirty name registrations?

I've dabbled in porn sites before.
No problem with hosting them on hostgator, etc, etc.
The biggest thing (no pun intended) you have to watch out for is how much bandwidth these mofos eat up!

Let me give you an example.

I had a porn site with approximately 5,000 exact searches a month for a particular phrase. I only added 30 pictures (probably around 400KB's each... can't remember ). From memory those pictures alone were eating up about 15 gigs of bandwidth per month!!

Now that doesn't seem so bad but eventually the hosts will catch up with you and probably ask you to move on to a dedicated server or a reseller solution where your bandwidth will be restricted to a number). Even though most hosts like gator advertise 'unlimited' ... they really don't mean unlimited.. .its more like a 'fair go' policy.

Porn traffic tends to be horny people that either convert immediately or 'finish' their business and move on if you know what i mean lol.

I totally agree. The industry is saturated by dominant players (again no pun intended).

so unless you have new porn (i.e., models that you pay that are exclusive to you) or you have found a super super ultra niche that hasn't been exploited yet - then its a long road ahead for you my friend.

Hostgator is fine for porn.

If it is just for testing the niche, then it will probably be your cheapest option.

If your site is just going to be ripped and uploaded to tube sites/torrents, what difference does having exclusive talent make? It won't be exclusive for long.
