I already tried twice to sign up for a Free Hushmail account but each time, after I click Continue With the Free Option, I keep getting the billing page to insert my credit card details, what I do not want to do.

So, my question: Is Hushmail still free or not?

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, looks like there's some bug within their website.

But why not just use Gmail or Yahoo?

It seems you have to pay for it.

they are no more free my lot of twitter accounts n facebook accounts were linked to them and they want me to pay 19$ for that now

They are free , but you need to keep the email accounts active by logging in every 2 weeks . If you do not login to your free hushmail account for 2 weeks straight , then you need to pay .

That would not be a problem for me since that email would be for a daily use.

The problem is that I can not get there to even access my "free" account before I pay.

If it's not a bug, it's surely a quite deceptive marketing tactic, a shameful scam I'd say.

Same shit here, they want to me pay for the service, when they told me the service is free.

You need to click on "Continue with a free Hushmail account". on the right hand box

It seems you are right , but my old free hushmail accounts are still active ..I do not use them for anything serious though , just when i feel like i might be spammed is when i use hushmail .

You can also try yandex / mail.ru / gmx

FWIW Hushmail is not a secure email service.

Wow, thanks a lot for the heads up, Raffy.

I was really under the impression they were Not so lame as Y, G, F, M...

I guess that ends my interest with them. Actually, I am sure.

Thanks also to all others who replied. Appreciated.

I cant post links yet, but wikipedia has an article titled "Comparison of WebMail providers"

This is a decent list of webmail providers, I have used it to find different email providers

I signed up with them a little while ago and your quickly go thru the small amount of space they give you for free. No I get messages telling me that I need to 'upgrade' my service. Screw them. This place is a joke. I moved on from them already. They are no more 'secure' than any other web based email service anyways.
