How can I insert hidden link on my client's website?

Hi guys! I recently got a project from a company who's outsourcing all his clients' SEO projects to me. I was thinking if it is okay I place a link to my own website on all his clients' website. Would that be unethical? Also, how can I place the links on their websites effectively without them being able to detect it? Thanks, guys!

No, it's not ok. You got the work, but it wasn't you who closed the deals. When you deal with the buyer directly and there is no middleman then it's ok, but not in this case.

...it is not unethical to do so - but maybe there is something wrong with the "without being able to detect it"-part.

why don`t you just negotiate that with your clients?
make it part of the deal - tell em they get a discount for helping you out like that or anything like that.

Thank you for the criticism and advices, guys! I think I forgot to point out another thing is that, I meet these local clients once every 1-2 months to update them on the projects. They know I am appointed to be the outsourced guy so the company saves up a lot on the time by handling the clients. Well, you guys are right. If I need to place a link on their website, I definitely need to ask them personally for their permission. But that on the other hand, I think I might piss the company off for 'trying to rank my own SEO service' myself. Once again, thank you all for the advices!

ok - so it`s not really the way to hide something in their sites as we all know right now.
problem with asking the clients is that the company that is outsourcing to you might be pissed if you would link on their sites - with permission that is? did i get this right?
so the - how close are you to the company that is outsourcing to you?

maybe you should use the connection to the clients to get some work for your business in future. as they know you are doing the work for others?
talk to the people. if they are pleased with your work maybe they will use your service in the future then. or lead you to some other deals. mouth-to-mouth is strong. leave them buisness-cards or give the clients your link so that they can pass it on...etc. etc.

could be some future-options for you instead of thinking about hiding links and such...
