How The NSA Spies On You

If you want to see something that will make you angry to the core, watch Snowden's first public interview. It's available on archive.org an it will make you lose all faith in governments.

Do the NSA have any data on the amount of americans that have personally phoned their member of congress, and demanded this to be stopped or have better transparency? What about the amount of people who have created community groups that regularly go to congress and lobby? Is there any data on that.

Its the NSA job to be paranoid of me, not the other way around :)

The NSA is bullshit in general, but I everything that is sketchy offline.

Do you know what the NSA does?

I know this isn't funny on a serious subject but I searched NSA to see what they do and I got "No strings Attached Sex" websites lol

Do you know what the NSA does?

the same as google, collects and organises data. It would be easier for you to look through every website listed in google, than it would be for the NSA to assign a person to monitor another citizen. If an average nsa worker does 8 hours a day, and has an hour for lunch, it would take them say 1 hour to make a decision on all your data, then they move onto the next person. They probably get griefed by their manager, about not meeting their productivity targets too.

That NSA worker then leaves work, and buys a car, gets a mortgage and has children. There is no "all seeing single eye"

Its merely another corporation drowning in excess amounts of data.

If the amount of people who complained about NSA actually bothered to speak to their neighbours, and find out what they do for a living, and report any terrorists directly to the government then they wouldn't need to collect everyones data.

Most people are always complaining about the proverbial "big brother " when the reality is that only younger brothers and sisters actually a right to complain about their big brother.

i know people who say that he should be shot for endangering the country. these are the people who believe that everything the gov. does is right.

but as long as people care more about kim kardashian and paris hilton than about what is really going on, nothing will change.

He is a hero in my opinion and the US government should not imprison him, they should celebrate him. What he has done is for the greater good, it may knock them off their high-horse for a while but if you can't admit when you're wrong, what hope do we have to learn?

get it while it's hot, kids! :batman:

ACLU launches user-friendly database of every Snowden doc

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has launched a searchable online database that contains all of the documents obtained by Edward Snowden and made public since last June.

"These documents stand as primary source evidence of our government's interpretation of its authority to engage in sweeping surveillance activities at home and abroad, and how it carries out that surveillance," Emily Weinrebe of the ACLU's National Security project wrote on Thursday.

"The ACLU hopes to facilitate this debate by making these documents more easily accessible and understandable," Weinrebe wrote. "Toward that end, today we are launching the NSA Documents Database."

The database is searchable by document title, category, or full-text content, allowing anyone with online access to delve through all the documents and find information on whatever previously secret government info-slurping they're interested in.

It's so funny to see people argue about Snowden. Honestly, there is more behind it. Snowden didn't say ANYTHING knew. You can find articles on the net which say the exact same about the NSA looooong before snowden talked about it. Also, considering the media attention, there is certainly more behind it. There is no logical reason to cover the story of snowden so extensively by large media outlets, if it wasn't for distraction.

Considering what the US did in the Ukraine (same as the other countries they invaded), there is a lot of stuff the US does which is 10 times worse than the NSA.

Note: When I say "US" here, I don't mean all people of america. We have to accept that there are simply a lot of corporate people with corporate interests. There hasn't been a single war which wasn't about some sort of control or profit. Most of the time it was for the preservation of the petro dollar (for example, africa, syria, etc.)

warm regards,

if "free energy" ever becomes available (ha!) many wars will be prevented. and many groups will lose their influence.

You can say the same about aliens. As long as there are no official documents everything posted by the media is a mere speculation. Snowden didnt say anything new, he proved that the suspicions were correct. I dont see any distraction in that.

US in the Ukraine is a speculation, just like the aliens. Give us a proof.

It's much more than speculation. The conversations had between Ambassodor Nuland openly plotting to install pro-US-puppets in the Ukraine is public knowledge, as is the flow of western funds to the NSO front group that helped foment the protests leading to the coup. But the first point is correct---when I was in the service, we were specifically briefed about the importance of not confirming information on any controversial event involving the military. We were advised to leave it to "the media person" or rep appointed to handle the press, and defer all questions to him.

I agree with this! I have seen the interview and it was truly an eye opener.
