Untraceable on the Internet?

I hope someone with experience can comment on this article:

According to it, it says as long as you uses public IP and MAC untraceable to you, then no one can catch you on the Internet. Is it true?

Don't believe anything from blogspot blogs lol. You are always traceable unless you go crazy in depth with procedure's.

If you log in to your email account, there will be a trace, if you use a mobile device, there will be your device's cell information a trace etc.
So I basically agree with the previous post.

It may be untracable for other websites, but for Gov Authorities, its easy to trace even without MAC address...

Absolutely false, router can login the mac addresses that are connected to it.

And once you have bought a "new" computer you have given your real name and address for billing purposes , however these are now permantly associated with your mac address.

Now a better way to do it is to change your mac address and connect to a public wifi hotspot, and of course not login to any of your personal accounts linked to your real informations. However in some countries spoofing you mac address is illegal and in some cases the mac address is burnt into a read-only ROM .

And as some members said before, don't beleive anything from blogspot, they are basicly made for tier 1 purposes

It is very possible to be untraceable, but not very easy. That is the point.

I think it's easier than most people might think. I've never been asked my name and home address when I purchased a laptop in a shop, but if you think that matters you can go for a second hand one.

Then you just install Tails OS on a USB stick and save all your data on an external HDD with TrueCrypt.

If you're still paranoid, you can use the library wi-fi or starbucks.

With all the reading I've been doing about NSA, they can break in any system, but they'll have to target you for that, if you're just spamming on the internet, I doubt you're a threat to them.

100% anonymity is not possible and a myth but depending on what you are doing then you can get close.
