Some ebayers are selling those terrible turn-key dating websites... you might try looking there to see what they are using, maybe you can get some ideas or pickup a dirt cheat site and improve it to suit your needs.

OK well I'm not spamming at all, just in case anyone wonders, but I've been working with dating sites for quite some time now, and a few years back ripped apart a dating script that is no longer created/supported/cared for. I removed a lot of the unnessary features, and added an extremely strong SEO element to the script too. It came with a great backend (still intact) and I added a great (easily editable) filter for messages that help destroy fake/scammer profile creators as well. There's an example of the script running at this link where I explain quite a bit about it. See bitly and the following for the link QLcGuA (to the moderators, I'm posting a valid link answering the OPs question. I'm not a spammer at all.)

Now, that link is missing the setup videos that I'm going to be posting.

Please note: setup is easy.

* upload files
* create blank database
* import the SQL script
* edit the HTML (or certain variables) to the theme of your site (i.e. christian dating, wealthy dating)

You'll have a pretty good dating site up and running in no time and it's SO SIMPLE to edit the HTML - there aren't thousands of folders and directories and confusing paths to trace etc. It's just all there in two sections - the theme's folder and the modules folder. Plus there's an article publishing section which helps for SEO/marketing as well.

On that page you can leave your comments and support questions and I'll answer all of them, it's easy. Just an FYI that an easy script exists.

I've tried them ALL - and I've tried Boonex and to be honest with you, setup for Boonex takes forever, and is SO complicated and there's just so much uncessary features, modules, bells and whistles that it becomes cumbersome. The only place users care for so many bells is on Facebook and Twitter - when it comes to finding love or a relationship, users want to see profiles, read them, and message them (or read their messages). Not to mention that Boonex is rather large and takes hours upon hours it takes to set up. If you're like me and want a solution that's simple and to the point I'd find something else - something much more cleaner.

I found SocialEngine on torrents for free. it's pretty 2006ish but maybe with some updates my site will look better.
