Social Networks blocking free proxy providers

How pro-active are social networks like Facebook and Pinterest at monitoring free proxy lists (e.g. proxy4free dote com) and banning traffic from those IPs? Anyone experienced with using lists like this an alternative to paid proxy server options?

Because your 1 of 1000 people using them, it burns them out and they get banned.
