High PR or High DA/PA ?

I have 2 questions and i don't have time to test or money to spend so i hope someone can help me out with some answers.

I'm going to buy some links, i have the option to buy a PR4 link on a very crappy website with low PA/DA and low majestic trust flow as well - or to buy a PR2 or PR3 link on a high DA/PA (around 30) page; both links would be contextual - which one is better for ranking, the PR4 or the lower PR but higher DA/PA ?

I also have the option to buy 2 expired domains: one is PR4 with very few links (20-30 links) and a low DA/PA (around 10) and the other is a PR2 with more links (around 100) and higher DA/PA (around 20-25). Which one is better?

I'm asking this because lots of people say check the DA/PA as well, but as far as i know google only uses their page rank - and the other signals (DA/PA, Majestic Trust Flow or Ahrefs rank - are not consistent).

So which one is a better indicator? PR or DA/PA? Or maybe even Trust Flow or Ahrefs Rank?

Oh and one more Q: there are lots of sites out there with high PR and no links to back up that PR (some of them with absolutely no links). I know that PR was obtained with a redirect or something but until the next PR update, if i get a link on PR4 site with fake PR, will it count as a link from a real PR4 site or it will be worth ZERO?

It will be worth zero one the redirect is removed.

Regarding earlier question I look at all things in totality i.e. PR, PA/DA, CF/TF and actual links. As a rule of thumb I may buy a site with high PA/DA, CF/TF and low PR but would never buy a site with High PR with low PA/DA, CF/TF unless there are some great links to the site which majestic or OSE missed.

One TIP: Google considers even internal links while calculating PR, so some sites with huge content pages indexed may have a high PR even without a good backlink profile.

Your question isn't an easy one to give a pat answer to. I would check the sites you get the link from. Check their back link profile to see which one would be more relevant to your website. Ultimately you want relevant links, not just in context in my opinion. Lastly as far as metrics go, the only one I've found to be less spammable is TF.

I've also been thinking that DA/PA was pretty important but i've been monitoring some sites during the past 2 years and sites with DA/PA around 50 never got past PR2 or PR3 (and we had a lot of PR updates lately).

So right now i'm only trying to figure out what google values most when it comes to ranking.

Both can be manipulated. Check the Trust Flow via MajesticSEO's link checker on both and see whichever ones are higher. It's a LOT harder (or atleast a lot more costly) to manipulate Majestic's TF.

Go for site with established Google and SEOmoz metrics on top of checking the urls for their own backlinks if possible before choosing to buy links on them.
