I was just looking over the traffic these other forums are getting on the daily.
Figured it was a decent suggestion considering the fact that this subject embodies BHW imo.
Would definitely consolidate all the talk about the various alts, btc, ltc, etc.
Of course I don't make the calls around here just merely a suggestion.

What about a forum for dollars, and pounds and rubles too?

I dont think its a good idea it will increase scammers on the forum.

These are interesting from historical point of view, but they are too archaic to drive a serious discussion.

Really nice idea, and i am supporting it. Of course there is a lot manipulation, but if we look on it as technology, it is worth to add it here! ;)

Absolutely not! You have no idea the can of worms that would open. Have you ever been to any of those crypto currency forums? I have an account at one of them and you need only spend a couple of seconds looking at the thread titles to figure out how this would go. Before I go any farther though, I just want to say that initially I thought this was a great idea. I actually thought about making a post very similar to this, so this isn't in anyway a shot at the OP, or anything of the sort. However, having spent a couple of weeks on that forum it became incredibly clear why you wouldn't want to do that here. People are very passionate about these coins, so you're going to bring a lot of hot blooded people over here with little to no experience in IM. The amount of spam will skyrocket as everyone tries to push the coin they like on you with countless threads for announcements, and giveaways, and so-on. In general it'll end up attracting a lot of new people yes, but not the kind of people this forum needs or wants. Again, I thought this would be a fantastic addition at first, but having seen what the "coin community" islike in action first hand on the other forum, I'd really caution against wanting that here too.

This.

I think cryptocurrency (and any currency) is the end goal, BHW is about the journey, it doesn't seem fitting to have a crypto coin section just how it doesnt seem fitting to have a forum here to discuss fiat currency

Completely understand your perspective and its a good one at that. Sure there may be potential scammers or heightened hackers/risks/etc. This forum is already built and managed by dozens of moderators/etc. whom I believe could easily handle this. Due to the fact that BHW has a shit list area or an alternative for when someone fucks you over will actually give this section even more merit. I say this because it will build even more trust for the community and those that come to use this forum as a selling agent for anything crypto-related. Personally I would just love to have it as a news site/channel to discuss, bullshit, speculate, etc. This to me isn't something that is going to go anywhere anytime soon whether bitcoin fails or not. Sure its a going to potentially have a double edged sword for its pros and cons. Though it definitely will bring more traffic and a lot of people that were pre bitcoin 2013 which might roll over into various other sections on this forum as well. I have been active on various of these forums as well and regardless of the trolls, spam, crap, etc. there is a community which works very well overall imo.

I personally wouldn't mind a Crypto section as long as there is enough demand for it.
Perhaps as a sub-section of money making?
