Hey this is great..
I need hosting for 2 vbulletin installations. Do you support it?

I just ready other posts and nevermind, I have had this problems before with other hosts that dont know how to do a proper Re-Routing, DDoS attacks are very common, thats why there are great tools for servers like the Barracuda VPN and so on.
Solutions exists.
When you guys find the perfect solution please PM with the info of the Vbulletin support.

i am going to try. cheap things are usually of bad quality. i am hoping it to be at least good than godaddy

Just moved all my sites few days ago from "alligator" to hostwinds. Now I pay four times more for hosting and my sites are currently down. They are up and down, and down and up, ..
I pay more and lose money each day (i already lost 60% of income for today, I didn't even count other days) - I'm not satisfied at all! I don't recommned them.

If anyone knows some good hosting provider please let me know.

We have had no downtime at all??

I did get an email from you, and am looking into your server now.

Please note that your site will go down if your running your VPS at loads of 80, which is what I am seeing. I am having a senior technician look into what about your website was making your server see such dramatic load spikes.

We are happy to report that all DDOS attacks are now successfully being mitigated, and yes we do support vBulletin

You were suspended not for too much traffic, but for a script on your site that was causing the servers load to spike to 50-100, you really do need a VPS. Our TOS is very clear that any scripts/services that are affecting other users will result in temporary suspension

You're probably hitting the limits regarding IO / CPU.
Even VPS isn't bulletproof to this kinds of resource usage limits since there is still some form common hardware platform for all nodes.

With a dedicated machine you don't have these problems - hardware limits are your only limits.
The only thing that can cause problems with a dedi are connectivity issues (if you're spamming/grinding 24/7)...
 
The service is a total joke.

Six Forum PM's and two Skype messages ignored so had to open a ticket on the site.

I had to fight for 4 days to get a refund because despite my constant direct message of "I want a refund" they kept on trying to avoid it and begging me to stay.

They then told me I had to wait 14 days for a refund so I told them in no uncertain terms that I wanted it now and they did it within minutes.

This was on the 14th of March.

TODAY I GET AN INVOICE SAYING I OWE FOR THIS MONTH.

For a service I DONT USE AND WAS REFUNDED FOR LAST MONTH.

Sort your act out. Lot of unhappy people in this thread and for good reason.

-10 rating for this joke of a service.
 
I was about to buy Hostwinds but I will look elsewhere after reading the posts here and after talking with a "frank kevin" on the live chat who just went and closed the chat when I questioned the availability of some coupons.
 
Im having issues with them for 2 days now, uptimerobot is constantly notifying all of my websites are down!
