I have use rhe help in the forum gen area ....

How often are these support help checked and answered ?

because I have a bug or something in it figuration area ....

Next a question on how long the url link can be.Since it say one url per line well mine goes 2 lines

Good question, timbor. As of right now, each forum would have to have its own copy of FG running along side it. However, in the future we'll be working on centralizing this.

The support email is checked and read frequently. However, because it is the weekend (it is Sunday at 7PM where I am) and we're working on a new version (testing right now), support responses have been slower than usual.

With regards to your second question, URLs that wrap should only count as being on a single line. If you run into issues with this, let us know and we'll fix it in the next version release.
 
FWIW, I spent 1K with a vendor early last week whose email never gets through to me due to some stupid verizon.net issue. Once I asked that vendor to email me at a gmail account, all of my issues were resolved.

Bear in mind that every ISP and hosting vendor wants to appear to be on top of supposed spam issues expense of smaller mailers, which means that your vendors may also be blocked.

Where th hell does this url come from ? No mine or any I inputed .

Sadly I tried a few years ago to find someone to create something like this and everyone told me it was impossible ...

First up, I set this up on my "other" host account but run into issues with cron only being able to run at intervals of 15 minutes or so, had to buy a cheap HG account to set this baby up on. That said the setup was painless and cURL was switched on by default, despite what others have said.

Running the thing at a slow to moderate speed only used something like 0.1% of the CPU so no problems there.

One thing I did find. The first time I ran this I installed a skin on my phpBB which fecked it all up, but FG was pulling in posts that were not really relevant to my keywords. The second time I set it up I took more care over the keywords that I selected and the posts that it pulled in were 98% relevant. I spent very little time deleting stuff.

This is a brilliant purchase and I can see how I could set this up to make money with this for very little effort.

Now to my question... My current FG stats read...

Potential Posts: 1019
Posts Gathered: 212
Current Cache: 53 possible threads.
 Current Posts:The script has posted 401 topics and replies.
632 more topics and replies are currently possible.

But it has only populated one forum. How do I now flush this so that I can set it to work on different keywords, is this possible? Do I have to do it via the database itself?
 
I also wonder is there any pinging built in to this ..

All these user questions like I said FG need it's own forum.

When I was beta testing this software, i had only 2 or 3 irrelevant posts out of the thousands i generated over the course of testing. If you can learn how to use key words (actually, they should be key phrases), you wont have a problem with irrelevancy.

I think this is what was causing my irrelevant posts. I had "christian debt consolidation" or something and that's why i had posts about god and jesus.

You can throttle how many posts are made hourly by setting a random range. You can add users manually, but there is not "drip users" function... yet. We'll be working on it soon. We're in the middle of testing the 1.0.1 release which will help FG make MUCH more relevant posts as long as the keywords are being selected properly. You can set any number of links to a single keyword and each time that keyword appears, it will automatically link to one of the URLs you've submitted. It will only link to each keyword once per post, but will reset and link again on the next post in the thread.

In terms of actual setup time, I would say 5-10 minutes if you have a keyword list in mind. 10-15 if you don't. You'll want to check up on the forum itself about an hour and a half to two hours later, but it is basically automated at this point.

That sounds like it might be a browser issue. What browser are you using? If it is IE, try FireFox. If it isn't a browser issue, you may want to try re-uploading the /applications/controllers/ folder and writing over everything. That URL is from the original post. We'll be adding in the option to delete or replace outside URLs in a future version.

For the time being, it would require you to clear out the database itself.

There isn't, but there could be if enough people request it.
 
If by pinging, you mean like a blog type ping that notifies the crawlers of new posts that would be awesome.

More often that not, they are pinging RSS aggregators and phpBB, out-of-the-box at least, has no RSS capabilities as far as I'm aware. If instead you mean pinging or sending a trackback to the site that is being linked to, that would not be unreasonable.

You choose a range of users to add at install. It uses a name list we've provided (though, it is very easy to edit and change if one wants to do that.) Once it is installed, there is a tab where you can select to add X number of users. You can also view an add user history that shows when and how many users were added.

How can we change the user names that is uses?

As stated above, you can customize the usernames by editing the Users file in the main /fg/ directory.

So if I was to use this.. setup a forum do little bit of advertising you think this will give you an active forum?
