In my personal experience Funny niches are not really profitable at all if thats what you are swaying to.
I earn 5 bucks a day on adsense and I get some pretty solid traffic, I have tried CPA offers to further monotize but that wasnt going anywhere.
Best thing to get people on your site is through social networking, facebook, twitter, tumblr and pinterest.
Dont just start an autoblog because everyman and his dog has done it and it yields results that are not even worth the hosting power behind it.
Create interesting content and use a social locker which will help for your site to go viral in no time.
